This is what is called the backend Pilot episode of the Originals. I'm guessing the show had been announced sometime during the airing of this season of TVD for the next season. So, some watch this episode of TVD, then the pilot episode, as they both show the same events taking place, but from different perspectives of characters. Though it's okay not to do this as well, and complete TVD as well.

One of the things with Klaus, is he doesn't want to show his weaknesses to his enemies, or to anyone for that matter. You can tell in his face when he listened to Hayley and the babies heart beat, that it effected him deeply, he does care, but he can't show it in front of others.

I watched the Original first, then TVD, and went back to watch TVD because I fell in love with Klaus from this show.

Marcel is so dam HOT 🥵😻Klaus tearing up when Camille indirectly talks about him is one of the most beautiful moments I think for Klaus he’s such a beautiful actor just always amazes me. Eagerly waiting for the next TVD episode almost at the end of S4 can’t wait!!

Nods, and the painting as well....also I loved how they introduced Marcel in the TVD, since I watched the Originals first, I didn't see the Karaoke scene. Marcel has a great voice.

You can easily watch the first episode of The Originals after this episode. From there, yeah it's important to finish TVD.

Ooh i'm so glad that you enjoyed the backdoor pilot to The Originals! Such an incredible show! Regarding the Night & Day walkers. They're all still vampires, not werewolves. Day walkers have the daylight rings, night walkers are also vampires that don't have daylight rings. I hope you do pick up the show right after s4 of TVD.
