🇸🇾 The Assala journey continues LIVE! After exploring Shamekh, Ghalban and Thak El Ghaby on YouTube, we’re continuing with two concert performances and a television duet with Sherine!
We’re watching Thak El Ghaby live in Dubai in 2022, followed by Law Taarefou with Assala and Sherine on Soula, and finishing with the extended Samehtak Ketir performance from Jeddah 2022 that you requested. That’s almost 24 minutes of performance footage before my commentary, including the complete published Soula duet segment and the almost fourteen-minute Jeddah performance!
Thank you so much for supporting the channel! ❤️
First up is ذاك الغبي (Thak El Ghaby / That Fool). With the studio version fresh in mind, we’re taking the song straight to the stage in Dubai. Its story follows someone who has rebuilt herself after betrayal, confronting a returning lover who expects her old, blindly devoted self to still be there. This gives us a chance to compare Assala’s live delivery, phrasing and emotional emphasis with the version we’ve just heard.
Then we have لو تعرفوا (Law Taarefou / If Only You Knew), with Assala and Sherine sharing one of Assala’s own early classics on her programme Soula. It’s a declaration of deep love and devotion, bringing a warmer change of mood and a chance to hear how these two distinctive voices approach the same song. We’re watching the complete published 3:47 television segment, which presents part of the longer original composition.
Finally, we’re settling into سامحتك كتير (Samehtak Ketir / I’ve Forgiven You Many Times) from Jeddah 2022. This is one of the songs that helped establish Assala’s wider fame, and the exact performance a viewer requested. The narrator has forgiven repeatedly out of sincere love, but warns that her patience has limits. At almost fourteen minutes, there’s plenty of space to experience the song’s emotional development and Assala’s expressive tarab delivery.
Let me know which performance stood out most to you, which lyrics or musical details I should pay attention to, and which Assala song or live performance I should experience next! 🇸🇾❤️
