Sobbed through pretty much the entire episode. Emma holding Louie's hand at the end after she was clearly nervous about being around a dead body really got to me. Also evil whitaker (Ogilvie) PMTFO like what do you mean "go figure" and "he croaked" when he could clearly tell what a close relationship louie had with all the staff.

I work a decent amount with AI lately though not in medical field but also somewhat regulated one, and I’m going to defend Santos at least a little. Al-Hashimi comes in on Day 1 at a brand-new hospital and presents a program she likes in a quick demo. (Was Santos even in the room for that?) Whitaker is the one who has to point out that the program makes mistakes. Only after he calls that out does Al-Hashimi mention the need to double-check and that there’s a margin of error. She doesn’t start by clearly stating the limitations, and it doesn’t look like she was going to until someone pushed her on it. If you’re introducing clinical AI, the deficiencies and verification requirement should be front and center. There’s also the approval issue. Even if the program is HIPAA-compliant and meets federal standards, that doesn’t automatically mean it’s cleared for use in that specific hospital. Typically, you’d need administrative, legal, and IT approval, which can take months. So her having it ready to roll out and push it so hard on Day 1 feels like a red flag. Then there’s the charting backlog. As Robby says, it’s not just Santos who’s behind. Santos also has a gunner streak and she jumps on cases. It’s entirely possible she simply sees more patients than some of the others, even if they’re minor issues. And minor cases still require full documentation. In Season 1, Robby was on Mohan for working slow (And she defended that she does 2 patients per hour i think). If Santos is 20 charts behind just from today, that suggests she’s been moving volume and probably clearing a lot of minor cases before noon. So Al-Hashimi singles her out, from a clear position of authority, threatens repeating R2 right as Santos started it, and then advises her to use this AI program without any structured training or detailed discussion of risks. Yes, Santos was wrong to rely on it too heavily and not proofread. She signed the charts. That’s on her. But she wasn’t trained on the technology, she was encouraged to use it by a superior, and she was simultaneously pressured to move faster. We had a 'useful' AI pushed to say 20 people team. And realistically 2-3 people use because we know how, how to verify it and how we can leverage it to support full team needs. but if my manager now pushed its use on all 20 people? Even with a training people would have trouble verifying outputs and overrely on AI answers without meaningful verification abilities. AI can be useful but it needs training and pushing it as magic solution to time issues was horrible handling on Al-Hashimi's part. I also wonder will the program being potentially not IT cleared (I do not know maybe it was, just would be really shocked if it was on her DAY1) will be a reason for this season's power/computer outage that I think was hinted in the full season trailer. I might of course be totally off base, the app is fully approved and Robby was the ED holdout. But the surgery doc in this ep also being anti-AI and calling out ED in particular tells me this is not something that everyone uses in the hospital.
