Regarding Peter, I am sorry but Carla just doesn't want him in the baby's life, she hasn't even told him she was leaving the hospital. She doesn't communicate either, I can't say that I blame him too much.

Also regarding Maggie, her comment to Carol was more of a kneejerk reaction to Carol second guessing her, rather then her feeling disrespect for nurses. But also, Maggie was also really insulted by Carol just as much by second guessing all of her instructions.

Also, also, regarding Jeanie. I think she actually saw herself more in the shoes of the husband rather than the wife. When she saw how much he hated his wife, she realised where this hate can get people. Not that the husband's hate wasn't justified, but still..
