This is a great episode. RE: Arya and Gendry....young noble women of her age would have already been married off to some nobleman, often much older and she would have had no real agency in the matter. Arya believes she may die and wants to experience sex with a man she likes, trusts, and finds attractive, so she goes for it. and I like that she experiences a normal rite of passage after such a chaotic last few years.

Sam gave Jorah the sword because it is too big for him. He's simply not strong enough to wield it. Sam will use another weapon, so it would be a waste to not use a Valerian steel sword in the fight against the dead.

Re: the line of succession with Dany and Jon, you said that if Dany were a man that she would have a claim to Iron Throne over Jon, but actually no, Jon would still be first. Male heirs of heirs still come before the second sons (and third sons etc). As a real world example, look at the British royal line of succession: Queen Elizabeth had Charles as her heir, but she also had 2 younger sons Andrew and Edward (and a sister Anne but as a woman she was last in the line compared to her 3 brothers, even though shes 2nd eldest). So after Charles, his brothers were next (like Viserys and then Dany would be after Rhaegar). But then Charles married and had Prince William, and as soon as he was born (and male) he pushed his uncles down the line. And then Harry was born and pushed his uncles down the line further, just like how Rhaegar's baby son with Elia Martell would've pushed Viserys and Dany (who was not even born yet btw) down the line of succession. And now William has married and has 3 children of his own, each time pushing their uncle Prince Harry down the line of succession. The thing about Jon and Dany is that no one (except Ned presumably) knew that Jon was born of Rhaegar, and a legitimate son to boot (also presumably Lyanna or someone told Ned that they had wed and so Jon wasnt an actual bastard). So, because the world thought Rhaegar and all his heirs (his 2 children born to Elia Martell) were dead, thats why Viserys was the next in line, and after he dies without heirs, that would make Dany next in line.

The Brienne knighting scene is definitely the highlight this episode. And the title of this episode "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is actually the name of new spinoff prequel series coming to HBO next year. The setting for that show takes place about 100 years before GoT, during the time King Maekar I (who was Maestor Aemon's father). But before all that, I wonder if you plan to wacth the other prequel spinoff show thats already going to its 3rd season, House of the Dragon? That one takes place about 200 years before GoT and revolves around the Dance of Dragons/Targaryen civil war.

Jorah can do far more good with a valyrian sword than Sam. It's really not complicated. Sam can still fight with a regular sword. But a valyrian sword is wasted on him. This is like Sam giving Jorah machine gun while he keeps a pistol.
