Endeavor redeeming arc starts now

Dude I hated endeavor at first but god does his redemption arc hit hard. He’s literally like a whole different person

I’m convinced that everyone saying that endeavor redeems himself is just trying to trick me into trusting him.

Big K

I’m glad they didn’t just humiliate those literal kindergarteners in a straightforward fight

GiantGoober

"how many kindergartners would it take to beat up a group of high schoolers"

Scar

Oh season 7 is gonna hit y’all like a truck

H-Bomb 24

VERY curious to see what Montana thinks of Endeavor moving forward.

H-Bomb 24

Love how Bakugo made an ACTUAL joke this episode. Like, he wasn't his usual aggressive self. 🤣

H-Bomb 24

I forgot about the Aoyama stuff this episode 🤣👀

Tangerra

Aoyama very clearly doesn’t have a lot of experience socializing. It’s an unfortunate reality for a lot of kids (and adults) that everyone expects the same level of understanding the expectations of others socially. But what I liked about Midoriyas response is that he understood the intent of the gesture and the nervousness of Aoyama and instead of just shutting him down, he acknowledged him and gave him the opportunity to learn how to be a friend. And if you stop to think about it, Midorya is really similar in that effect. He makes drawings of and writes notes on his friends all while talking to himself aloud. Not quite sneaking onto someone’s balcony and leaving vague cheese messages, but still a little creepy. So the fact that he’s really the first person Aoyama approaches in this way makes a lot of sense.

I think people are incorrect to call it a “redemption” arc. I feel it’s more of a situation where a person realizes how garbage they have been and understands that while they can’t fix the damage they did, they can still be someone better. Redemption, to me, implies making up for debts owed. You can’t do that when it comes to some things. But you can realize that you’re more than the worst things you’ve done and become someone you can live with. If other people along the way decide it’s enough, then that’s their choice. And I think this is the beginning of that realization.

Christopher Collier

Sometimes anime will do that, have a character be borderline insane/really unusual in order to manufacture conflict and drama when there was a very simple way to convey their feelings.

Yeah, you nailed it. Endeavor trying to be a better person *without* the expectation of forgiveness or redemption is what made me start to like him so much.

I swear the Japanese have some weird stereotypes about us Frenchies lmao. Tho I'll admit the cheese and wine part is pretty accurate 🤣

Jinchuriki87

Yeah, that whole bit with aoyama was so nuts, but as others have mentioned I think it was more due lack of social interaction, perhaps. In regards to endeavor, I think he felt that saying "I'm sorry" may have had more a negative affect without SHOWING shoto that he's trying to change/has changed. Especially with a crowd, it may have felt like a PR stunt perhaps. Also, thanks for answering my question!

JeffersonGE

To be fair, I prefer Aoyama than Mineta

Kurtiss

Not sure if you’d care but every video I watch I say the intro with yall

gamerx

Momo's quirk is also prohibited

oh :D sorry im stupid haha im hope Montana don't see my comment, it's little spoiler i forgot this monologue Endevour have in season 5 :D

Revin MacGrath

I know Endeavor is like such a bad dude. But he's literally hot. He's thicc daddy supreme.

Megan

i always thought endeavor and shoto both understood that they cannot ever come to forgive and let it be. so he asks that his son watches him going forward as he tries to prove he is different now, and shoto says he will watch. at least no longer ignoring him.

Julius

Endeavor is written to be so unlikable, but then he became one of my favorite characters. Such a good redemption story. Its genuinely impressive how well written all these characters are

Chinskii

LMAO. Well to be fair, Aoyama doesn't really have friends so I guess it makes sense how the things he did for Deku didn't seem weird to him...but it was freakin' weird af lol

I was reading the manga today and that image during the "nothing is scarier than a wounded hero" panel I was like 😳😳😳😳

PanjaMysy

I seriously thought Aoyama was going to try and shank Izuku the first time I saw this ep. 😆

PanjaMysy

"Mathematics is truly a cursed subject." Truer words were never spoken, Tokoyami 😆

The thing about the quirk singularity doomsday is that it’s been repeatedly disproven throughout the series by the series own explanation of how quirks work, and the existence of Deku and Todoroki From the very beginning were told you inherit a quirk from either parent, a combination of your parents quirks like Shoto, a random mutation quirk like Eri, or in rare cases nothing like Deku. If that theory was true, it wouldn’t have taken Endeavour 4 attempts to conceive a child with both quirks, and Deku should have inherited a pyrokinesis quirk The fact that you are in no way guaranteed to inherit a combined quirk let alone a more powerful one disproves the theory entirely. Not to mention the fact that that’s not how genetics works
