Honestly, the boat scene sorta lost it’s effect when they all spoke english, cause he just speaks perfect english instead lmao 😂

Kristopher Sy

When Kenny predicted the dad bit I went uh yeah totally. Small side note, this was cut out but in this scene in the manhwa, not a major spoiler, but in the paperwork that they got for Papa Sung it was stated that when he went missing it was prior to the ranking system. So when he awakened he was already an s rank but got trapped in the gate before he was officially ranked

Lyrical Kell of Music

They actually moved around that really well even better than the sub. In the sub they had all the people who are supposed to speak English just speak Japanese In the dub the just sidestep the language barrier all together and go for the angle that sung looks like a pure animal, which works a lot better and makes more sense

HBelmont67

Dang, I never heard Reiner or Stain in Jinwoo's dad till Kenny mentioned it.

HBelmont67

Oh, the irony of the timing. 😅

HBelmont67

Man, Jinho's such a little buddy. ☺️ Anyone else think he's gonna be Jinwoo's anchor to his remaining humanity?

HBelmont67

Exactly. Did what a good dub should.

Teib _21

Wait what subbed? The people who speak english on the boat speak english in the subbed i watch And the lost hunter, tries his best to speak english by only saying the important parts he knows, in the dubbed he switches from perfect english to suddenly shortened english and then for some reason they have to call hung to speak with him even though they don’t establish that he is speaking a different language. And i just found that hilarious 😂

Kristopher Sy

More like they spoke Engrish in the Japanese sub version

HBelmont67

I think it was red gates specifically where time operated differently, not necessarily all gates.

Sergio

@17:31:: DING DING DING!!!!!! Correct Kenny!!! That’s a ‘W’ for you, sir!!

Sergio

@34:22:: In this universe, “S-Rank” is a spectrum. They, the Associations that govern hunters in each country, can ONLY measure up to a SPECIFIC level. **“After you’ve surpassed ‘x’ level, you are considered S-Rank.”** If they were able to measure higher, there’d be diff. tiers of the “S-Ranking” classification. With that in mind, the “S-Rank Level” of Hunter Yoon-Ho (White Tiger) and Hunter Dongsoo (Korean ex-pat) may be similar however, we have yet to see if the same holds true for the other S-Ranks of this universe. Which could lend some explanation as to why Sung IL-Hwan (Jinwoo’s Father) simply BEAT THE BREAKS off of Hunter Dongsoo.

Limini

The demon tower is my least favorite part. Watching someone grind is kinda boring. I wish either they would have made the enemy fights a bit more difficult for him or shown us more interaction between the shadows or something. Something to get to know them better or their battle strategies etc

HBelmont67

With his jacked body and fluffy hair, Jinwoo's dad kinda reminds me of Carlos from Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Ramon Fax!

There was some cut dialogue as well as a comedic moment scene with Igris and Iron that I wish made it into the adaptation.

HBelmont67

When he paused, I thought he was gonna recognize the voice-actor as Shoji's from MHA.

HBelmont67

Learning that LiSA is one of Montana's favorite artists on Spotify makes me happy.

Kristopher Sy

Remember when igris presented The Alpha bears head to jinwoo? Yeah Iron did that but with Vulcans head

Kristopher Sy

It's like special grades in jujutsu Kaiden if we had to draw a comparison

HBelmont67

So is an anime or a western show gonna replace this season when it ends? If it's the former, then I gotta recommend Violet Evergarden. Don't let how poorly it does on polls fool you; most people just probably haven't watched it themselves. But it is a GORGEOUS piece and animation and story art that deserves your attention. Plus, it's a complete series.

HBelmont67

Now, if it's the latter, then obviously I'm gonna suggest Legend of Vox Machina. I've pretty much said why enough already, so I won't repeat myself here. 😁

Braden Jackson

Loved the brother scene reminds me so much of me and my friend also good to see Jinwoos care to him

JPSings

I find it interesting that this is one of the rare anime where not only does the dub have really great voice actors, but is also more accurate to the original story. The subtitled version changes names and even locations to minimize the effect of the animosity between Korea and Japan.

Limini

Where did you watch it? Bc the version I watch is in Japanese with english subtitles and they clearly still say "sung jinwoo" etc

JPSings

Ahh did some additional research, the changes are only in versions watched or sold in Japan. They created two versions of the Japanese audio. One for Japanese audiences with new names and locations and one for other audiences with the originals.

Braden Jackson

I was not expecting the fat demon to be so fast 😂

Bryan

Y’all look different idk why, new camera?

EndSoul995

they do look different to me as well. hmm

Letts React

We actually turned off 2 bright lights to try to see if this works lighting wise, do we like it or not? Makes it easier to film more in a row because it doesn't tire our eyes as much haha

Yoshy Moshy

Yup, only Red gates have time differences, the standard gates follow the real worlds time.

Zachary Mullins

i see what you’re saying, but he cleared 3/4 of it in basically an episode. i think spending anymore time on it actually would feel just like watching someone grind. i don’t think they would have much battle strategy to show atm because they’re a lot stronger than most of the demons

Limini

I don't mean to make it longer but to replace what is there with maybe character bits from the shadows.

Rhoux Fang

Fun fact, in the subbed version of the anime, the man that Sung Il-Hwan first spoke with in the dungeon is actually voiced in English to show that he and Sung Il-Hwan don't speak the same language.

Bdflames

"i think its his dad" his dad: heard you were talkin shit i just love how the elixar is what you think the end game is when it was clearly just something the system did to motivate him to get stronger (anime only btw) also i always love your discussions but the way you just keep dismissing the name of the show like its not what the shows about, its not "some leveling' not "couple leveling" not even "duo leveling" its solo, one, uno if someone else with the power shows up i'll give you 100 bucks fullstop (again anime only)

LabyrinthSouls

Kenny at “ you’re a big boy” 😯

HBelmont67

It really shouldn't have been

Aaron williams

I think the jinwoo flags hinting at the ultimate catastrophe is a huge misdirect I don’t think it’s him
