Kristopher Sy

peak has finally arrived in dub form!!! I'm stealing this from somewhere: Iron is smiling, Igris is styling, and Tusk be dying

Braden Jackson

Getting jumped by your own guards is extreme disrespect jinwoo was styling on tusk

Malik Black

Idk why but I love Tusk’s Spanish accent.

Letts React

It had aura for SURE, only line I didn’t like was saying “I’m invincible!” Could have been a bit better

Kristopher Sy

Or the ova where they had a card game

Ghosty

Can’t believe they got J Balvin as kargalan voice actor

HBelmont67

Or the one where they play baseball.

HBelmont67

Apparently, this is his first credit as a voice actor.

Jota Canutto

Holy shit the dub for Tusk is awful

HBelmont67

I think it's more Columbian. It definitely made the character stand out.

CadeNoCap

I get why people hate the way Tusk's dub was done, but personally I love it. He's an orc. Realistically, you wouldnt expect him to sound like a normal ass dude. My only complaint is just how hard it is to understand him underneath the post editing or the filter on his voice but I love what they were trying to do with it.

renuzui

I like the callbacks to season 1 in this episode. Jinwoo was definitely reminded of the double dungeon incident when he mentioned hating giants and how the orc trying to stomp on him pissed him off lol. And I like how at 22:40 right before Kargalgan dies, he sees almost the exact same thing Jinwoo saw in the double dungeon.

CadeNoCap

Also Jinwoo being canonically HORRIBLE with names whether its a human or a beast is so funny

Braden Jackson

Yea I liked the voice I just could barely hear it and to be fair I was guessing he was going to be called red before jinwoo calls him tusk 😂

HBelmont67

I think the miner who got spooked my Jinwoo is voiced by Sato, aka Sugarman from MHA.

HBelmont67

Now Jinwoo's got an S-rank baddie falling for him? Bro's charisma really is off the charts.

mal

the voice itself is fine but the voice acting? terrible. especially right before he was killed. that “I’m invincible” line was NOT delivered well at all😂😂😂

HBelmont67

Considering this is the guy's first time voice-acting, I'd say he did a good enough job.

Dustin James

Tusk voice actor did have to grow on me and even now it's difficult to understand him. However the biggest laugh I got out of this episode was the look on your faces when he couldn't remember his name. 😂 " Gargle something? I'm sorry man"

Andrew Blades

I'm not going to lie. Of all animes that you guys have watched I would never have guessed that Montana would be as invested as she is for Solo Leveling. She seems so genuinely excited, and it cracks me up!

Braden Jackson

Yea the I’m invincible line was one of the few issues with it the voice acting my other issue is just that the effects make it hard to hear him but it’s his first time so I’m not gonna be to judgmental

Andrew Blades

I really hate the dubbed version of him. The whole episode was much better with the sub. All the other voices are very good though!

The Shadow

Kenny at 35:20 I'm not gonna say anything Because I read and finished manhwa years ago but I am very impressed with this theory

Dustin James

I definitely understand that. I hated that I had to use subtitles. Some of his lines eventually grew on me but in the end I still would have preferred a different direction. That said small blemish on an otherwise great episode

Strike177

The agency isn't trying to "be friendly" to get him to join, if you recall a few eps again the leader of the agency said they'd give him a set amount of time to get his affairs in order before the S rank test. So his info is "Government sealed info until then".

L.C.

I only watch sub stuff most of the time. I am not a douche about english dubs always being bad or inferior. I just really do not like the choices they make with the foreign accent stuff in the English dubs nowadays. I really do not like the dub for the leader of the orcs in here. Make him sound more intelligent and fluent in speech. He is the leader and by far the most intelligent. It just throws it off too much for me.

L.C.

Not to mention you can't tell the majority of what is being said in the first place which is why you needed subs which basically makes the dub pointless in that aspect lol. I think its an awful decision and sounds bad. Just my opinion tho.

Braden Jackson

I agree that I hate I can barely hear him but the voice being off putting makes since because of the fact that kargalgon is a orc i liked the foreign accent tho

Miguel Veyta

Tusk voice actor is a famous Colombia singer name j balvin

Ramon Fax!

Everyone is saying the same thing

Braden Jackson

I thought he did a decent job really wish they toned down the effects with the voice tho

Braden Jackson

Guys I don’t think kargalgan is very “TITLE CARD” after that beating

Ahmad Pattonbey

That was one of the only lines I cringed at which sucks bc this shows dub is amazing but he was not it honestly

HBelmont67

I get what you mean. His inner monologue is much easier to understand, but if you're using headphones, it's not that bad.

Pugz

Because they don’t have a standard American accent they therefore don’t sound intelligent ?

Westy

*gargle-something

L.C.

Fluency when speaking any kind of language makes you sound more adapted and intelligent. Not that it specifically defines whether you are intelligent or not. Its the way you sound with that language that people can automatically judge upon no matter which language you are talking about and being the leader of the orcs the whole thing is that he is vastly superior to anyone else under him and is supposed to come off as intimidating and sound proper with his dialogue. Its the showing of it that matters the most here. I don't really know how else to explain it if you don't get what I mean by that. You are twisting my comment to make it sound more prejudice than what it should mean. I get tired of people on the internet twisting stuff like that around to make it seem worse than it is. "They don't have the standard American accent so they don't sound intelligent". Its like I have to go on a whole essay explaining every little thing. I couldn't care less if I got called a "nazi racist scum" because I would go on living my life since its lost all meaning on the internet lol

narutorunner

I'm a sub guy through and through but jinwoo's dub va is so good, actually like him more than the Japanese va which is new for me

Braden Jackson

It’s not racist it just seemed a bit rude out of context also he is the leader of the orcs it is more realistic for him to not have perfect understanding of the human language especially when he is the only one of his tribe to speak it

Bdflames

gotta love DEI, man the guy was hard to hear in dub

Braden Jackson

I agree that celebrities voicing animated characters is a issue but it genially isn’t that big of a deal from what I heard one of the few lines that was bad VA is the I’m invincible the rest wasn’t that bad my main issue was the auto tune that made it nearly impossible to hear I liked the garble and the unemotion in certain moments because it makes it sound like a orc I do agree that their are better VA that could have done it but it really isn’t a huge issue especially in a show with a lot of good dub VA one bad one really shouldn’t ruin the hole thing

SYNTH

So when it comes to regular gates like these the system has no control over them only gates from the keys like the demon castle/the fight with Igris are programmed from the system so everything in this gate is real

Guy Wall

I can't even imagine the reactions if you watch Arifureta

Sam Guthrie

It is crazy seeing the captains of guilds see his power and want him to join, usually you have one egotistical powerhouse at the top of a guild trying to kill jinwoo

Jinchuriki87

This show is awesome and I'm loving it! That said, have yall heard there is a sequel/spinoff "solo leveling ragnarok" which, given this current series popularity, will likely get the anime treatment! I take it yall would be watching that as well?

SageJ

So, I gotta say, the view of Orcs not using magic is a bit antiquated. Like…2e D&D first release antiquated.
