Popsus

THANKS FOR THE DOUBLE DROP!!!❤️❤️❤️.

OFF SKRIPT!

The double drop just made my day!! Please continue doing that for HxH lol they love to slow burn on that show

HBelmont67

I have no context as to why this was a double drop, but good on you, Kenny! 👏👏

Tyshawn Evans

yes, i hate how slow this anime starts up but that’s honestly what makes this show so damn great. bitter sweet lol

Babybear47

Honestly interesting thought process with hisoka 2:34

Babybear47

The card in the hand is always a little gross feeling and gagging ugh. Cool though

Babybear47

A trick up his arm sleeve lol same

Babybear47

The original is uglier lol love it

Gdawg88

Machi is so badass🙏🏿 she’s one of my favorites 😤

Cosmic Youth

Machi charged more for the right arm because Hisoka is right handed 😅

Babybear47

Watching this episode I myself feel like this episode makes hisoka a little bit more likeable in a way because of how detailed he is, it's just so fascinating it's hard to really hate him but being creepy is hateable lol

Babybear47

Ik a few people that simp for hisoka in the shower lol I can see why lol

Babybear47

Hisoka was the one that surrendered in karapica fight

Babybear47

Kenny thought process of the 2nd question was interesting, fascinating!!

OceanPhantom

Double drop is dope excited for phantom troupe shenanigans time for the show to actually start

OceanPhantom

Hxh does not have black and white characters the theme of this show should be nuance and I love that

Ramon Fax!

Don't forget the hunterpedia!

FlameyLynx

No matter how much I hate Hisoka, the man is a master at his craft. I feel like he was genuinely geeking out trying to get Machi to acknowledge how he utilized his nen

KaladinStormLight

It's a mistranslation in English dub he is part of the Phantom troop (he has been a member for 2 years in manga) by "masquerading" they mean being disloyal to the the troop as Hisoka just said he plans to "hunt" them now that the boss is returning (He's not hunting Gon yet cause he's not ready). You can't just pretend to be a member Infront of a real member of the troop.

defnotdai

I like Hisoka as a character. For me he's one of those characters you want to hate but can't. Idk, he's just weirdly intriguing lol

The Legendaria

Also important fact: The number on the back of the spider of the phantom troupe does not resemble how strong they are in the group. It's just your number not your power level inside the troupe.

patricia jimjimcherie

Hisoka has been my absolute favorite character for 21 years now. He is always the most interesting character on the screen because his motivations are all his own and do not align with anyone else. He is his own man and he’s always constantly trying to put everyone on edge to put them off their game and I think that’s super strategic. I just love this silly ah clown. His eng dub is aight, but his Japanese VA?? Hottest voice. Hisoka has been a member of the Phantom Troupe for 2 years, so he’s not loyal to the Troupe. It’s been mistranslated, it’s not that he’s a “fake” member, but that he’s faking his loyalties ig?. Gon and Killua are “new” toys but he wants to hunt the Troupe to move on with it. Also hey! This is a lot of people’s favorite clown magician! Specially mine!

Jabriel Stockton

You guys do know that kurapika is a boy right? I’m just asking because you said “she” when referring to him. I made the mistake of thinking kurapika was a girl for the majority of the show due to the VA being a woman😭

Tyler

When Kenny said "she" he was referring to the pink haired girl, not Kurapika.

Phoenix_mercury

If he's faking loyalty to the troupe he's still a "fake member" 🤷 also yes, favourite magician 😁

Franina

Hunterxhunter really did a nice job of giving you little bits and crumbs about the phantom troupe. And meeting a member of the phantom troupe and seeing what’s she’s like brings a lot of question into how the phantom troupe really act and what kind of people are in the group

patricia jimjimcherie

You are right LOL I guess I explained myself wrong, what I meant was in relation to what they were saying that Hisoka was just starting to fake being part of the troupe, I don't know if I'm explaining myself well SORRY. I'm at working and trying to interpret while writing is hard SORRY

Jabriel Stockton

Oooh, thx I totally thought they were talking about kurapika😅

Jota Canutto

Well the absolute no reaction to the girl saying "All Troupe members are to be in Yorknew City on Septempber 1st" was a real bummer. Did you guys think it was a random troupe? lmao

Yuma Nanami

We did hear what Hisoka said to Kurupika "I'll tell you something neat about Spiders" then after that they will be in York new Sept 1st.

Kristopher Sy

Remember bungee gun has the properties of rubber and gum

jolly

did you guys forget about the phantom troupe??😭😭

jolly

right

Joe Dunams

Despite Hisoka's.... "personality" he is a very popular anime character. He plays by his own rules. He is neither good nor evil. His goal is to fight strong opponents and morality plays no part in his decision making, lol.

Phoenix_mercury

Chaotic neutral feels fitting for him... No one's side but his own, whatever is interesting for him in that time🤷

Phoenix_mercury

Ah ok no worries, I saw it as them just using fake instead of pretending ect, I'd didn't see at them taking it as something new though

narutorunner

Some of these criticisms are annoying, like let them enjoy the show and not pressure them to have the "right" reaction

FearTheDee

Hisoka is a battle addict as well as a battle genius. He lives for the thrill of the fight so his ability is perfect for him.

Andrew Blades

Kenny saying "everyone's least favorite clown". Me thinking Hisoka is literally one of my most favorite character in all of the animes I have seen 😂

Erin Ryan

I mean we already know the troupe members are going to be in Yorknew City from Kurapika. I also think its normal to not immediately recognize it when they haven't been mentioned in a while. They had a reaction when she said "phantom troupe"

Erin Ryan

They haven't really revealed Hisokas reasoning for joining the troupe yet so don't spoil

Erin Ryan

I did not expect all of the Hisoka fans defending him lol. I think its pretty valid to not like the pedo. I agree hes well written and Kenny and Montanah didnt say he was badly written. Being creeped out by him means hes well written and they never denied his strength.

Mary Baker

Hisoka is a very well written character with huge influence in the story, but he is also just super creepy. It makes sense that they’re grossed out by hi

Dominick Ratliff

I can’t wait til you meet the phantom troupe. They change the entire energy and stakes in the show when they’re revealed

Timothy Heck

For a lot of people Hisoka is like having that bad cilantro taste gene: it doesn't matter how good the other ingredients in a bite are, all you can taste is soap.

Cube Pylum

Why would they react it's not new information

dannydarko27

Hisoka surrendered when fighting Kurapika, so whatever Hisoka whispered to him wasn't in order for him to surrender since he didn't surrender

Millie L

What I've always liked about Hisoka as a "villain" is that he doesn't have an overpowered or complicated Nen ability; he's just super battle-smart and a master of the fundamentals. He knows how to use the tools he's got to their fullest. And despite what everyone says, I don't think he's a pedo. He's just... super excited by a good, challenging fight. He sees the potential of Gon and Killua as future opponents, and it has nothing to do with them being kids. Plus, his theme music just 100% slaps.

defnotdai

I haven't seen anyone saying they have to like him. Initially disliking him was to be expected lol We're just explaining why we're still kind of drawn to his character, despite him being creepy.

Cube Pylum

*Spoilers ahead There is a scene in greed island where he stares at Gon and Killua's asses, and it was changed in the anime but there's a moment in the election arc where while talking to Illumi he threatens to SA Killua, saying he isn't a pedo is just objectively wrong

KaladinStormLight

That did not happen I have no memory of that and he's not gay he wanted to go on a date with the spider girl so ya he's not a pedo he just gets sexually aroused by strong opponents that's it

Millie L

I assume you are referring to the scene in the election arc, episode 141. Hisoka says, "By the way, am I allowed to kill Killua? " Which Illumi responds to with a violent aura and threatens to kill Hisoka for threatening him. There is nothing about SA. In the English dub, Hisoka only says, "If there's a chance, can I?" Maybe the manga was different, I don't know, and don't feel like looking that up. But both the dub and Crunchyroll sub don't seem to imply SA from all the scenes I've double-checked. But regardless, at the end of the day, I don't want to sit here and defend a creep for being a battle perv rather than a pedo. He's a creep either way, and I'll leave it at that.

Dylan Snodgrass

Apologies if this has been shared already, but I checked Hisoka's va (Keith Silverstein) and things you may have seen him in, and I think the only one is he's the principle in JJK. <3

Thanad

The Greed Island scene was just to mess with them and make them creeped out. He loves to make people feel uncomfortable. He is the pure personification of a Combat Sexual that is turned on like crazy by strong opponents and fights. The higher the risk the more he is turned on.
