Yuma Nanami

Yay Double drops, Awww 2 weeks. Thank you for Season One and cant wait for the continuation

HBelmont67

Whoo! Great choice for a double drop! 🥳

HBelmont67

Man, Vax was done dirty this episode. Right after Keyleth (gently) rejected him after he just got her back from the brink of death, he had to watch her get rizzed up, albeit unintentionally, by his own sister. 🤣🤣

Suplee215

The using magic dirt to bootleg a druid spell was not in the campaign. But its a great way to represent a resurrection ritual without it being a resurrection. I love how the show does that. Translates dnd mechanics to show. Matt also uses alter rules for bringing someone back from the dead. A ritualnthat adds a sense of failure vecuase he feels like death is too cheap in dnd which is great for a game but bad for a story. So it really captures the anxiety of a player death despite being depicted as an almost

HBelmont67

"You shot me!" "Yes. Well, thank you for not dying." "Yeah, you're welcome." Always love that exchange. 😂

HBelmont67

Actually, I think people had to wait TWO years for season two after that cliffhanger. 😭

HBelmont67

"Big crossbow" = ballista, BTW

Franina

What’s you guys favorite show that you’re watching right now? It seems like it’s this one

HBelmont67

I'd think it's this one, too 😁

Suplee215

Big crossbows are called ballista.

wanira 11

Percy's demon was actually voiced by Matt Mercer, absolutely amazing range that guy has

HBelmont67

I love how, when Percy's demon is in control, he's not reloading the pepperbox ONCE.

HBelmont67

Might be his best performance in the show this far.

Ferret

The villain VA GOAT is incoming people, this is not a drill.

HBelmont67

At least he got to record all his lines, RIP.

Logan Clark

So excited for next season! Also, the "big crossbow" you were referring to is called a Ballista ;)

Lucky

in the campaign when scanlan destroyed percys gun, even after percy learned it was still cursed he wanted the weapon. not in the possessed "i need it way", more like the "i spent so much time and gold on that gun im not losing it" way. i think it took literal spells and vex and keyleth (who in the campaign was percys best friend in the group) talking him down about how it will be okay to stop him from jumping into the acid to try and retrieve it. mostly the spells were what stopped him. to this day percys voice actor is still pissed about losing that gun

Lucky

to give a tiny bit about how bad those dragons are, "hey have you seen our intern. blue, lightning, pretty weak"

StorytellerDave

Fun fact - For Romans it was actually often Catapulta, which we mistakenly now turned into the catapult which is a rock thrower, but originally it was the name for the bolt throwers. They both worked with torsion so the names are kinda interchangeable to the Greeks, which is where the confusion originated from

StorytellerDave

I feel like this season was really strong, and yet I am still torn whether I like S1 or S2 more. Each season has a few episodes that are just 100% masterpieces, and it is hard to pick a favourite.

HBelmont67

This season, to me, feels the most like a complete story, so I'm a little more partial to it. There may be better moments and episodes in later season, but as a whole, I think s1 is still my favorite.

HBelmont67

Is that an actual line from the stream? Cause that's hilarious. 😂😂

Cameron Dougherty

I don't know who needs to know this, but I am pretty sure most if not all of Vox Machina are canonically Bi <3

wanira 11

This season has a special place in my heart, but I feel like season 3 is the best by far

HBelmont67

I get that from Vax, Vex, Scanlan, and Keyleth, but the rest, too?

Joyce B

I really hope they do a video in the couple weeks before season 2 starts on here. It's one of my favorite things reactors have done if they haven't seen the campaign

wanira 11

That was my hope too :)

HopelesslyImmersed

I'd love to see you both play BG3 together, if you ever decide to release a gaming channel special :p

Cameron Dougherty

I did say most but with DnD you never know lol SOME SPOILERS KINDA !!!!!!->->-> but their campaigns only get gayer LOL by the third campaign literally every player character is part of the LGBTQ community 🥰

HBelmont67

The third campaign is with different characters tho, right?

HBelmont67

Blink-and-you'll-miss-it detail, but when Vox Machina is back at their keep in Emon, Pike is reading the "Tusk Love" book she noticed at Gilmore's in episode two. 😅

StorytellerDave

Yes, each campaign is a completely different group, though it is the same world and C3 has ties to C1. Two of the characters are very closely linked through their backstories to Vox Machina.

StorytellerDave

Personally I would have to go with S2 because of the Tomb and the Killbox, but all 3 seasons are amazing

HBelmont67

That moment in the show gets me every time. 😂 "(sigh) Yeah, maybe you're- nah." (toss)

Drake

Glad you've enjoyed this so far. I don't know which is my favorite between season 1 and 2, but I definitely have a weird fondness/nostalgia for this season despite not having really watched Critical Role myself.

Juan Solo

"That's rough, buddy."

Juan Solo

The demon gave the pepperbox an infinite ammo glitch. 😆

Juan Solo

Percy with the sunk cost fallacy 💀

Robert Bonfante

Season 2 crushed it for me. It has more of an epic journey feel to it -- hints of Lord of the Rings and/or Avatar the Last Airbender. Season 3 had some of the greatest individual episodes and season 1's story was more concise, but Season 2 was just an emotional rollercoaster the whole way through.

Robert Bonfante

Anyone familiar with the old school, classic Dungeons and Dragons cartoon? Percy's demon was a shadow demon, and some might be familiar with the Shadow Demon who always helped Venger out in those old cartoons.

J Valentine

I still sometimes go back to this episode in the live play campaign. One of the first moments in D&D that actually made me feel the power of the story telling. The reactions of the players as it played out, it was a much slower burn on the dragons appearing at the council. It caught them all off guard as the "big" thing was the Sovereign stepping down. That felt like a world changing event in the story. At this point the group was beginning to question why they were even together and then this happens and it was my first full story arch I watched. Eventually I went back and saw the Briarwood arc. It's a lot to get through but it's a good watch/listen if you ever have the time.

David L

Yeah in his defense though it was a pretty sweet gun where like every barrel had a different magical effect and he suffers from "I don't have a magic weapon" syndrome for like the entire rest of the campaign.

David L

It also happened a little different in the live campaign; they climbed over the edge and Vex was jumping down when she got hit by the spell which iirc left her at 1hp. She then went down to 0 from the fall damage right as the antimagic zone went off. Queue panic mode when the healing doesn't work. I do think she just ends up making her death saves as they run away. Giving Keyleth a heroic sacrifice moment was a cool change though.

Confusedpup

You guys should watch the Scanlon recap song video. Its great

LordUnreal

I don’t know if people have said this but you should totally react Table to Stream videos where they show the scenes from the stream and then compare it to the show

dannydarko27

The show keeps the healing coming from clerics more, but many classes have access to healing spells. Sam would usually make sure to take Healing Word or some type of healing spell just in case. He was the most clutch Bard of them all

dannydarko27

One of my favorite visuals in the whole series is when the demon's eyes make the 2 moons in the sky when Percy is walking in the shadow world. Exandria has 2 moons. Ruidus, the smaller red moon, and Catha the larger bluish/white moon, closely resembling our moon.

StorytellerDave

Can't wait to see the Smut Shop in Mighty Nein

AuroraZero_

"I think it'll be a slow burn." ....oh Montana...you have NO IDEA HOW SLOW ITLL BE (10 years and counting still 😭)

HBelmont67

SPOILERS You saw season three, right?

HBelmont67

I mean, I'm pretty sure the main thing is that Vex is being nice to Keyleth for the first time, but Kiki is definitely also attracted to her.

AuroraZero_

like campaign 3 or season 3 of vox? Bc both yes haha

HBelmont67

Season three of Vox. If so, then why are you still counting lol?

AuroraZero_

Haha...haa.... I will say no more than XD

HBelmont67

Hold up, there's a Scanlan recap song??

Drake

the crazy thing is every single of this characters died at some point, no revivify real dead needing ressurection. and matt mercer has way harsher ressurection rules with increasing difficulty and rolls if you fail u stay permadead. alot of them even died before they started streaming in the homebrew, as long as u have the thousends of gold worth in diamonds and are lucky in ur rolls you can come back otherwise thats it
