THE BOYS ARE BACK

Erin Ryan

BTW in the intro you have the episode name "Episode 1: Izuku Midoriya Origin" lol

MaSeshield9277

So basically whenever his eyes turn Scarlet his men type changes from conjuring to specialist. Specialist is a broad category of nen that means it doesn't fit into the other five. He created his chain techniques as conjuration techniques. Think about how in JJK they have cursed energy and then they have cursed techniques. The only difference is that here in Hunter Hunter those techniques you can design they're not decided by your bloodline. His emperor time technique is a technique he can only do while his nen type is specialist. The chains he can do even without the Scarlet eyes. But for example the enhancement he used to defend against uvogin and to heal himself. Those are aspects of his power that he can only do to such a high degree because of emperor time when he has the Scarlet eyes

Erin Ryan

It so funny to me that this arc is just Gon and Killua trying to make money while Kurapika is fighting for his life

Limini

Pawning is not the same as selling 😅😅 he's gonna get it back as long as he has the money

Popsus

8th…

Limini

I love how killua is not a pushover

Limini

Hxh is so exposition heavy

Limini

Hxh capitalism arc: killua and gon learn how to underpay their employees and do none of the work themselves

Babybear47

I love how we got to see y'all's conversation of the poll y'all put out for eyebrows or sideburns lol!!

Limini

Feels like a community bet being paid off haha

Yuma Nanami

Remember in Heaven's Arena, as of the 200th floor they no longer fight for prize money. Its also a different city so travel time from there and back time would pass and the Auction days would be over.

Limini

Pawn shops only start selling your stuff after a specific time. So it's safe until whatever time they specified and they only start selling it after. Normal pawn shops give out loans from 2 weeks to a couple months

Limini

I think they meant the underground arm fighting thingy

patricia jimjimcherie

23:14 yeah… this came out better in the subbed version. His thoughts aren’t positive or a cute moment. What he was saying is that Gon is constantly toeing the line between good and evil.

Yuma Nanami

Maybe, but wanted to point out again. Not the first time they remarked about going back to the Arena

Cyan_Sky9135

Ive been looking forward to this episode purely because of the question part! You guys did not disappoint😁 Thank you very much!

The Legendaria

Episode 52 and 53 has to be a double drop

David Treago

i love that gon sold his license. hes a hunter for the sake of being a hunter. most of the perks associated with it, are not that important to him

pineapplegreg

I hate his sideburns love his eyebrows

LeFlaneur

The eyebrows are the craziest

Day

Montana "I've never seen eyebrows" Letts

Day

Tbh my digust is also focuses on his eyebrows, sideburns after like the 3rd rewatch, but not untll this video did I realize he had micro bangs 😭😭

ForiegnKarma

feel like you have to cut Killua & Gon just a lil slack lol , comparing Killua situation to Kurapika’s is apple and oranges . Killua being tormented by his older brother by force so Gon made sure Killua can expand his life & live his dreams. But kurapika kinda made it his main goal maybe even life goal if you say to kill the Phantom Troupe. Yes Gon save Killua from his toxic family but Gon will never make progress of himself if he’s always worried and concerned about others goals.

Limini

pawning is not the same as selling and him being a hunter is like the only thing connecting him to his das

StorytellerDave

Thinking back to Gon in ep1, I really like how his lack of judgement is already shown there. He does not judge his dad for leaving, he is just curious what about being a hunter is worth it to leave him behind. Gon really is judgement free, he is just a curious little bean.

David L

Side effect of the author being too sick to draw much, so we get a lot of just describing the world or characters talking to each other

Danny's Mod

pawning a hunter license is not selling one, i mean dont you know what pawning means?

DT

Yeah I don’t understand why the dub version does that, it’s not the first time so far…

Dominic Sanjay

Kenny, cmon. I've seen some alt girls do the shaved sides with long sideburns look, but I've never seen someone with eyebrows where the ends are literally parallel with the middle 😭

Luís

Getting context for the Zepile poll was hilarious lol

Bdflames

when the dub ruins the foreshadowing smh just so you know eyebrows inner monolog being shadowed like that was on purpose, maybe in your free time watch the scene in sub to get the proper context? idk

Letts React

Honestly thought pawning was trading an item for money 😭😭😭 that’s what Pawn stars taught me!

David L

One reason is likely that translating from Japanese to English isn't always that clean. I think there are many cases where complex thoughts are expressed more quickly in Japanese, and so the subs end up being a bit wordy. Which is fine for reading, but having to actually speak the line aloud makes it stop sounding like actual speech.

Limini

Maybe they do work differently in the us. Others seem to think the hunters license is gone too. Technically you're right, you trade money for an item. You get a loan from a pawn shop, whatever item you give them is like the collateral/insurance. If you don't pay back your loan in the agreed time, they get to sell your item. For example i give them my watch. They give me 100€. I have a month to pay it back, 30€ every week (bc interest). If I pay it back I simply get my watch back. If not the pawn shop sells my watch for profit (ex. 200€). So they do charge interest and they usually lowball how much you get for your item, so they can sell it for profit if you fail to pay back your loan. While Gon got a ton of money for his hunter license it probably would be worth more if he sold it, instead of pawned it, but it's safe for him to get back.

BennLimos

Just so you know, Kurapika is that bro who'd leave you at seen and also 50 missed calls. Before this series ends, you'll remember this comment. LOL

BennLimos

An inconvenient fact. I notice it a lot with subbed animes, that the words would not flow as casually in English if they were the actual words used in dubbing.

BennLimos

It's one of the criticisms of Togashi. Some say he should turn the story into a light novel because it has become too exposition heavy instead of the story being shown as drawing/manga

Limini

I thought that started way later down the line. Wasn't he still healthy when he started hxh?

BennLimos

I've seen quite a bit of reactors thinking the same and your Pawn Stars comment makes sense as to why a lot of people have the same knee-jerk reaction to Gon pawning his license.

Jay Red

Gon never really cared for the license itself remember he wasn’t going to even accept it due to how he won his main reason was to see what the hype was and finding his dad everything else is just side quest

narutorunner

Ty for actually explaining the difference and not just saying, "you don't know the difference between pawning and selling?!".

Nathan

I want to warn you guys about episode 116 of the dub. They change the dialogue and unlike in solo leveling it very much hurts the scene and takes a lot of the emotional punch out of the scene.

Limini

Well yeah that was back then. By now gon has understood how useful and important a hunters license is. Without it he wouldn't get access to sooo much information let alone open up gings clues in the first place

Chris Jarrett

lmao the eyebrows and sideburn convo hahahaha
