A railgun is a real thing that really exists. its just not really feasible. it uses magnets to accelerate a projectile without any powder or propellant

I knew Yuji's VA Adam McCarthur had done voice work outside of anime, but I didn't realize JJK was his first role in the medium. The only thing I know from him outside of anime is Marco Diaz from Disney's Star vs. The Forces of Evil.

To add a bit of info as to why the season ends here on such a massive cliffhanger, its because Kaiju no 8 is VERY, VERY short. This arc is the beginning of the "final" arcs of the series. The series up to the episode you all have just watched has covered a total of 75 chapters. There's only 129 total chapters in the entire manga, meaning next season is almost certainly the last season. We're in the beginning of the "Second Wave" arc and there's only one more arc after the Second Wave and then it's over. MAYBE there's enough content there for a 4th season/a movie but I really doubt it, I think the third season is probably the last. From the beginning of the last few episodes of the second season/from the start of the episode you just watched, it's pretty much all just gas. Season 3 will be a banger, if it happens. No official renewal info yet but hopefully we'll see one soon!

Also I HAVE to point out Platoon leader Shinonome’s English VA is Emi Lo, the same VA for Lucy in cyberpunk edgerunners, and they CRUSHED their scene here. That monologue gave me goosebumps!

The new seasons of both JJK and Frieren come out around the same time (maybe even the same day). Wonder which one they'll prioritize. I'm hoping for Frieren to come back first, but that's just me.

The dubbing team also, more so now/since 2016 ish, pays attention to the mouths/lips and tries to match length of the translated lines to the animation given for it. Like trying to match the same amount of syllables for a line or even, if possible, using similar words of a translation that will make similar mouth shapes. I know Kaiji Tang (gojo) has talked about the famous heaven & earth line there were several different iterations they thought of for the dub
