Swanzy

Thank you Kenny!! 🔥

AcedOnez

Man meruem is my goattttttt

Saiyasha

Three? THREE? Oh my lord you are spoiling us rotten!!

Rico

My perspective on Pitous tears are demonstrating their internal conflict. Every instinct Pitou has is screaming at them to protect the King. But as we have seen each of the guards treats the King differently. Pitou cares about the Kings individuality unlike Pouf who cares about him as the concept of an ideal King. Pitou got a taste of the power Netero and Zeno have but is being ordered to heal Komugi. Shes placing the Kings life at risk but betraying his orders and allowing Komugi to die would destroy him too. Pitou is being placed in a no win situation.

Jojo Garlin

Remember Pitou’s response to Meruem’s request for a name. Youpi had no real capacity to answer and Pouf thought of it as a trivial, Pitou is the only one who considered Meruem’s feelings on the matter. And is also the only one shown who isn’t bothered by Komugi’s presence. Pitou is much more thoughtful to Meruem’s feelings so seeing how much distraught he had brought her to tears

This has been a HECK of a week for Patreon! Between the Chainsaw Man movie, the Vinland Saga double drop, and HxH TRIPLE drop, you guys are spoiling us. ❤️☺️

Cem Birler

The dog was a paid actor barking at the most intense aura😂

Mark Romero

I don't remember things too well.. has Youpi been shown to be bothered by Komugis presence? I don't remember when. Doesn't take away from what you're saying, just wondering...

Æther Paradox

“The King has lost the plot” is a PERFECT quote for this arc.

MaSeshield9277

Such a good episode. So glad you guys are finally gonna see this arcs conclusion

Erin Ryan

meruem telling pitou "I'm counting on you" and them crying after makes me cry and I can't even tell you why

Erin Ryan

Imo Pitou cried because for the first time they are being fully trusted by the king. And not only trusting Pitou but relying on them to save someone precious to him, something only Pitou can do

Shay

Nah, he's pretty indifferent to her

Erin Ryan

I don't think any of the royal guards care about their lives in regards to the king. Pouf has repeatedly thought he deserved to die because he failed the king. All we've seen is nothing but absolute loyalty and devotion to the king.

Deku

Pitou cries because she feels overwhelmed by the trust and responsibility King Meruem has entrusted to her. The main reasons for these tears are: 1. The King's Unlimited Trust When Komugi is injured by Zeno Zoldyck's attack, Meruem doesn't fly into a rage. Instead, with remarkable calm and tenderness, she holds the injured girl and asks Pitou to heal her. For Pitou, who lives to serve and protect the King, this moment of absolute vulnerability and trust from her master was an emotional shock. 2. A Sense of Immense Responsibility Pitou realized how important Komugi was to the King. Her crying was an expression of determination and fear of failure—she knew that the life of the person the King cared about most rested in her hands. This was no longer just an order; it was a mission of the utmost emotional significance. 3. "Humanity" and Empathy In this scene, Pitou displays near-human traits for the first time. Her tears symbolize her transition from a ruthless predator to a being capable of feeling deep devotion and pressure.

Personally I am of the opinion that Neferpitou's tears were shed because she was actually profoundly moved by this encounter with the King. Think about it. Just like Netero and Zeno are very aware of what they are witnessing; an Ant showing concern and tenderness towards a human, Pitou is taken aback by this as well. The ants feel as though they were born with a purpose, but many of them have never experienced love or even friendship before. They were born with consciousness and the ability to speak and reason on some level, but even so their actions have mostly been guided by their animal instincts and nothing more. That's why this moment is so striking for everyone in attendance. It is the first time they all have witnessed an ant show more than just favor, but actual love and care towards a human. While Zeno and Netero are mostly just confused and surprised that their assault left a human girl injured with ants to be her caretakers, but Pitou for the first time is seeing the depth of love that the King has for Komugi. She has never seen this before, at least not from an ant, or at least not from one she is devoted to and respects so deeply. What I think actually brings the tears to Pitiou's eyes is the King turning to her in his time of need, asking her for help in healing Komugi, while explicitly saying to Pitou "I'm counting on you." She now understands that he cares more about Komugi than anything else, and him saying this indicates that he has faith in Pitou to take care of the thing he cares about the most. I think that trust he is putting in her is what moves her to tears, even if she doesn't realize it in the moment.

In the meantime, we got JJK's return. 😎

Divine General

I was manually breathing through half of this episode because I was so locked in I kept having to remind myself to breathe.

HBelmont67

I think the last triple drop they did was episodes 9-11 of MHA season seven. THAT was a fun time. 🥳

Alayna Petty

I like this analysis of it! I always thought it was because she felt the King had truly succumbed to caring for humans- which goes against everything in their DNA. Asking her to heal someone "so insignificant" (like bugs are to us) broke her heart, similar to Pouf in the previous episodes.

Mary Baker

Yes, I agree. The royal guards entire purpose is serving their king, so of course Pitou is moved by him depending on them.

Phoenix_mercury

Yeah like their is 0 doubt left in their mind that the king blatantly cares for her so the fact that he is trusting/believing in their power to save her

Phoenix_mercury

Also their is 0 doubt left in their mind that the king blatantly cares for her(his unguarded aura would have obliterated any lingering thoughts) so the fact that he is trusting/believing in their power to save her

I just clicked on this episode without realizing you guys did a triple drop! I was like, “they shouldn’t be this far up the stairs yet!”

Carver Jay Featherstun

THANK YOU SO MUCH for uploading multiple episodes. This is so much fun watching you guys experience this show for the first time!!

HBelmont67

Dudedudedude, go to the latest voting poll and do Dr. Stone!!

Erin Ryan

The reason this arc takes so long especially this entire battle is that there is alot of discussion of the internal feelings of every single character, this episode is a perfect example of it. I know Kenny and Montanah love the internal dialouge which gets me so excited

𝖐𝖆𝖙𝖘𝖚𝖐𝖎 𝖇𝖆𝖐𝖚𝖌𝖔𝖆𝖙

I'm so glad it's on the poll! And oys not doing terribly either! 🥳 Hopefully castlevania replaces MN and then we can get Apothecary Diaries and dr stone since those are the two top anime that are winning. (Beisdes vigilantes which I also kinda want lol)

HBelmont67

Yes to all of that! 😁 I'm rooting more for Dr Stone and Violet Evergarden, but I'm also totally fine with the fact that Apothecary Diaries is winning.

Erin Ryan

They're also very good about letting a moment speak for itself too, like pitou crying I think the narrator woulve been an interuption. I love hxh lol

I think the difference between Pouf and Pitou (and Youpi) can be seen in the earlier scene when Meruem asks them what his name is. Pouf declares that he needs no name because he is the one and only King; that aspect of being king is what defines Meruem to Pouf and it's what cements his loyalty. Pitou on the other hand suggests the king take on whichever name he feels is most fitting; their loyalty is much whimsical and focused on Meruem's desires, and thus is far more flexible in nature and more in tune with Meruem's emotions. All that to say that I think Pitou's tears are an honest reflection of the despair Meruem feels at the prospect of Komugi's potential demise.

David L

It's a particularly clear example of manga being a visual NOVEL and the anime adapting off that. It happens in lots of anime but this is a particular extended example of it. Like, when words are on a page people don't really think about it from the aspect of "how could the characters be thinking all of this in a few seconds" because that's just how the story is being told; but it becomes a lot more exaggerated when it's in animated form. This chunk especially is more like an audiobook with pictures.

Day

Hppefully they watch it for episode you-know-what, thats the best place to watch through + after credits scene!

Erin Ryan

Hunter x Hunter is my top 2 favourite osts but the choice to use silence to show the king holding a wounded komigi is chilling and perfect

Colton Piper

Nice Analysis! I think it could be a combo of two things. The first is Pitou feeling the emotions of the kings negative aura. The king is most definitely sad that Komugi got hurt and Pitou felt that. It is true that other people being in pain emotionally can definitely lead you to share that pain (not a bad thing, I think it can help empathize). So, Pitou is already sad for the King who is probably feeling insanely depressed right now at the thought of Komugi dying. The second thing is the responsibility and trust that the king is putting in Pitou. Asking Pitou to save Komugi, is essentially Pitou's god asking her to save something extremely important to him. Which for a truly devote person can be emotional (I assume, I am not a truly devote person to any religion). It don't think the royal guards have any fear of the king killing them. Well maybe they do have slight fear, but if the king asked them to fall on their own sword they would all do it. I would say without question, but they may question it and then not care what the answer is and die like he asked. I suppose Pitou could also be scared for the kings life. She understands that Netero and Zeno are monsters themselves.

Sorted Jovanny

She cried becouse she felt what the king felt...his pain...she was not afraid for her life. It was for the best they did not atk the king cuz if konigi dies then pitouf would be joining the fight

KrampusLuvsLettsReact

ima grown ass man, and this scene specifically makes me tear up and completely changed my mind on pitou
