I never understand why Gon was so angry about Kite dying like Gon knew the guy for a single day maybe a week at most. He should be angry yes but not to the point he stops being able to think reasonably.

Kite was one of his best teachers, if the same thing happened to Bisky *and* he blamed himself for it the way gon blames himself for kite I can see the same reaction

Idk if anyone has said this to you before but in the manga kite was introduced in the first chapter and he was a big part of gons "origin" storry and the reason gon found out his dad was a hunter, thats why he decides to become a hunter, so in the manga kite was much more important and not just a mentor he knew for 1 week

Watching 116 in Japanese was an experience. Mainly because of pure raw emotion. I'm 30 years old and I haven't found another show that delivered like this one. It's not even my favourite show 😆 Just best episode for a VA I've experienced

I don't think I'll ever understand why people are shocked by Gon's reaction to Kite. Gon is a kid who forms attachments very quickly, and has consistently been willing to put his life on the line for people who were way less important to him than Kite. Kite's not just a mentor he has a very close relationship with Ging, a person whom Gon's emotions towards are complicated at best. He's also all but said how much of his anger is self directed and him not knowing how to process that. Idk, it feels like we've been watching different stories whenever I hear someone surprised by Gon's reaction.

Example of the least tense and interesting episodes being right before an absolute banger. The episode isn't even that bad but knowing whats next its almost unbearable knowing how much better the next ep is

Kite is the one who gave Gon his goal of being a hunter (in the manga anyway) so yes, Kite is important. What confused me was Gon wanting to avenge Kite when he believes Kite is only being controlled and can be saved. But as soon as Gon confronts Pitou it’s about avenging him?

This is the legitimate rare 1 in 1000 times that it totally IS necessary to at least watch the clip in Japanese after seeing the English version

I mean yeah he shows up in the first chapter and then isn't in it again for like 180 chapters. I guess he gets mentioned a few times too but still, I just think people are massively hyperfixating on it because the specific details of the interaction change and he doesn't show up in episode 1. Nothing about the way or why of Gon's hero worshiping Kite changes, and nothing about Gon's self-hatred over what happened changes.
