Wouldn't Choso have felt when Yuji briefly "died" because of Yuta? Confused why he didn't detect that.

I mean he was in the middle of getting gatlin fisted by naoya so...

真嗣 • Shinji

Correct, and that’s why he was waiting in the shadows observing rather than blasting Yuta on sight. He felt Yuji die but then sees him talking, knowing something is up.

Chris Collier

That’s actually a debated topic from what I’ve seen online. But also, he was instantly brought back to life, but was just knocked out for a while

Kyo Usui

He revived him in the same moment , so it was too quick.

Rob Carlstrom

Maybe, but yuta healed him THE MOMENT yujis heart stopped beating. There's also a hundred little things like choso and his other brothers were very much direct siblings while yuji and choso are more like half siblings (more like 1/3siblings) so maybe choso has to be close to yuji to sense him dying?

Ingis

he did, thats why he was hiding in the shadows when yuta was waiting for yuji to wake up. he was just waiting for an opportune moment to attack.

David Garcia

In theory yes, but it wasn’t mentioned in the manga. Presumably Choso was too caught up in his fight with Naoya to have noticed it, since they were happening simultaneously

thevoidbender

It could be a timing thing? Like when people “die” for a few minutes then get revived so they’re still alive. Maybe it doesn’t tingle until after it’s like yeah no they dead dead no coming back. Idk.

DoobyMcGooby

I dont know if it was said, But yuji was dead for like MILISECONDS. He just had to fulfill the pact and healed him right away. Choso's connection thing i think takes a few second to kinda confirm if a brother dies

Magnis

he could have felt it but still had to give full attention to naoya, but yeah weird they didn’t at least show a reaction

Contrastjd

I always assumed that choso didn't notice yujis death or pay it any mind cause if you remember right after yuta stabbed yuji he immediately healed him so maybe yuji was only unconscious. But hey also could be just author writing error no ones perfect.

Theo Umberwood

You mean he was getting pillowfisted? :D

Lyrical Kell of Music

I think he would’ve. Maybe since it was so brief, he didn’t feel it, or maybe since he was fighting against Naoya, he was just distracted with that fight

Prue

Because of the way the episode ends with Yuji dying we don't really get the same effect, but in the manga you see Yuji die and right after you get Choso reacting shocked "looking in his direction" losing focus in the fight and getting slamed right after by Naoya against a wall, the speed of the fight doesn't allow him to move and given that it was an instant revive there was no need for him to go into crisis mode he probably thought he was wrong (Yuji dies and comes back to life right after, he's alive when Yuta drags his body to Naoya he's just still K.O.)

HBelmont67

Just accept that Gege left a couple plot holes here and there. 😅

Prue

If you want to see it it's chapter 141

HBelmont67

I'm starting to think MAPPA maybe didn't do the best job at adapting this manga accurately.

Gastar805

My personal explanation is this. choso was distracted by the fighting, so he focused his senses for the battle so he didn't notice it. And by the time Yuta was dragging Yuji to choso he was already revived, since he was brought back the moment his heart stopped, so by the end of the battle he was already still alive. Or another reason would be that the sensation of death didn't come to him because he technically never died, sure he was "killed" but he didn't die, even if the heart stopped you do still have a couple seconds before you completely cease function. Pacts are described as "based on interpretation" a lot so there is a shocking amount of wiggle room when it's the right people. Either way, the most likely reason was just that he probably didn't think about it.

Ramon Fax!

In the manga Choso makes a reaction. The anime doesn't have time to go through every single little detail.

Ramon Fax!

They expand and upscale on the fight scenes, but that's only because they cut small little details.

Wolffe5989

It was that brief even Choso couldn’t sense it even in the manga he shows no reaction to it. It’s him getting blitzed by Naoya that makes it look like he got distracted by Yujis death but it wasn’t that at all Just shows yuta was just that quick with it that even chosos sensory mutation didn’t work

James ray

It was just so short of a death that it didnt even pick up. Choso senses it shortly after generally, just like the fight in shibuya. Love your content, have a wonderful time watching JJK!

Braden Jackson

It could be because he was both far away in the middle of a intense fight that needed his full focus or that Yuta brought him back so quickly choso didn’t have time to notice

Schlong Shucker

My guess is that the cursed womb death paintings only have that sense for each other, even though Yuji and him are still brothers

Dylan Snodgrass

Yeah I think it's this bit, frankly. I think it was so quick he may have felt a blip but since Yuji's heart had been healed and was pumping blood it most likely went ignored.

John Thule

Yuji technically didn’t die. Jujutsu sorcerer entails metaphysical abilities, and as we already know a sorcerer who is killed can reincarnate as a curse (if slain without the use of cursed energy). Yuji’s heart may have been stopped by Yuta (so as to not violate his vow to the Jujutsu society) but the fact of Yujis death was not established in reality, and his soul never vacated his vessel. Thus, he wasn’t truly killed.

Ronan

I think John Thule is correct below. Also keep in mind though, Choso was getting the crap beat out of him with Nayoa, so this may have effected his connection..? Not sure if it would work that way or not. The first time Yuji almost died battling Choso, Choso never was preoccupied as much as this recent battle. This may explain why he was able to focus on the connection then.

Letts React

But doesn’t Choso notice when his brothers are ABOUT to die, not when they die?

Jammers

He was too busy being tickled by Naoya

FlameyLynx

Whilst I'm tempted to genuinely theorize about this, I genuinely feel like he was concussed from the mental flashbang that is Naoya's rancid vibes (plus getting the breaks beaten off of him at mach 6 speeds)

DoobyMcGooby

I SAW SOMETHING YOU GUYS SHOULD KNOW!! so when yuji and yuta were in the room, and then after megumi came up, choso appeared and scared megumi. The thing is yuta didnt know choso was there either, he was waiting to attack yuta but stopped and made himself known when he saw they were all friends. So Choso was alerted then!

John Thule

He noticed Eso and Kechizus deaths only after they’d occurred, and he only realized Yuji was related to him moments before he nearly killed him, after the fight was over. Perhaps the loss of focus once the battle had ended allowed him to sense Yujis death through their blood connection? Interestingly, Yuji indicates he feels pain immediately after kills Eso, but doesn’t notice anything when Kechizu is killed. The ability only seems to fully manifest itself when the blood-connected sibling isn’t actively distracted with a pressing life-or-death threat.

Spectaa a

This. Yuji wasn't dead yet when Choso got his flashback in Shibuya.

Spectaa a

Ok then what happened in Shibuya when Choso got his "flashback" of Yuji?

Spectaa a

Nice headcanons everyone, but the only answer is yes.

Babybear47

I honestly think choso didn't know his other brothers were about to die when yuji and norbara killed his other brothers but he did when they fully died I mean for that it makes sense to me that he was only known when he did but it was like a few secs or so till yuta did his thing to bring yuji back to life, but then this post was a few days ago so maybe pointless to say... Anyway that's my thoughts
