Kanta

I’m so unreasonably excited for this Haikyu is one of my favorite shows of all time taking a spot near the top with MHA, Naruto, Soul Eater, and Angel Beats for my personal favs

HBelmont67

First sports anime, and I'm glad that it's about volleyball. I love volleyball! It's probably tied with bowling as my favorite sport. Learning Montana actually played it in high school makes me even more psyched for this reaction. 🏐😁👏🏼

Renn.88

Hell yeah! I thought itd come out later in the day and id have to wait til after work to watch it. Kenny the GOAT

george

this is probably the funniest anime i’ve watched

BetterCallVee

So hyped for this reaction omg!! Also, knowing this series, you mentioning the “King” thing is so effing funny . Oh and the underlined number on the Jerseys of some players are to highlight their captaincy.

BetterCallVee

Kanta…, YOU’RE SO RIGHT! total comfort show

george

Yes you can use your foot in volleyball you just can’t kick the ball

Kiribukai

I’m so excited! 😭 I can’t wait to watch this when I get off work! 🧡🏐

Lui the Bean

Well now we know, Montana cant jump and do arm thing. 😭

Shay

I've got something great for you: have you ever seen "Disastrous life of Saiki K." or "Life lessons with Urimichi Onii-san", these shows are so goddamn funny (and the dubs are actually good and just as funny)

HBelmont67

After their discussions, I can tell this show and reaction are gonna be fun. 🤣

HBelmont67

I only just started watching this show around the time they announced it would be replacing HxH. That being said, I'm still glad I voted for it cause another reaction channel I'm subscribed to, Carlie and Ange, LOVE this show, so I'm sure it's good. 😁

george

i haveeee, they are so funny too

sophiasmilez

Would definitely recommend BLUE LOCK next and I think it’s something BOTH OF YOU WOULD ENJOY. I was HOOKED FROM EPISODE ONE! Even though I never was into watching any type of sports anime, I’m glad I gave it a try because now I’m obsessed! Hope you have a good one!

MistyKahn

So excited!! The dub of this show is so funny.

Thiivi

I'm so excited for this! This is my #2 anime behind AOT! Also cool to hear that you also played ultimate frisbee Kenny. It was one of my favorite hobbies for years!

HBelmont67

I tried Saiki a few months ago. Funny enough, even if I didn't stick with it. That's probably just a me thing, though.

Rob Carlstrom

As a fellow former lax bro Kenny fits the bill for sure

HBelmont67

Fun fact: Hinata, the ginger-haired MC, has the same voice actor as Falco from Attack on Titan.

HBelmont67

Okay, is it Haikyu with one 'u', or with two? Cause I keep seeing it both ways. 😅

AJ Hutchinson

I definitely recommend getting into a recreational volleyball league. I did that a couple years ago and honestly it's so fun, you meet so many people of different ages and backgrounds!

TJ115

The dub of this show is so good and hilarious and no one ever reacts to it in dub so I'm very excited!

Babybear47

I use to play tennis and track but didn't do track for long, tennis though I was doing for 4 years middle school till highschool but had to stop because health stuff.

Phoenix_mercury

Same! Fun fact my cat(tuxedo) is named after a character in E6(milk bread) and omg is it fitting 🤣

Have you watched love is war? The dub is amazing and so hilarious

george

i’m actually in the middle of watching that rn, i just finished season 2 a couple days ago 😭

Isaac

Yeah when they do casual dialog. The emotional, tense acting is a flop tho which is why I hate the dub, sadly. Ep 8 made me drop the dub so hard.

HBelmont67

Oh my gosh, Kaguya-Sama is one of my FAVORITE shows. It's SO funny, and the dub is one of the best I've ever seen. 🤣 I'm so bummed that most reaction channels don't watch it in dub. If Kenny and Montana ever make the jump to romcom anime, Kaguya-Sama HAS to be their starting point. ❤️

HBelmont67

I'm a few episodes ahead, and I can tell he's gonna be one of my favorites. 🤣 Also, I asked you before if Haikyuu had any romance, and I feel like Tanaka and Kiyoko are gonna be one of the main examples. 😏

Kanta

the romanji (japanese script in english text) is "Haikyuu" The adapted english version is "Haikyu" because we don't like double letters too much (ironically)

Jenna Murdock

After Montana said she was a setter my immediate first thought was “a new member joins the pretty setter squad” lmao 🤣

David L

This show does a really good job of explaining the rules over time because despite his passion and natural talent, Hinata is pretty ignorant of how to play volleyball beyond the very basic rules. So it's able to naturally explain to the audience the sport through explaining it to Hinata (and others). Also, one of the key regional differences is that the sports teams are club teams, so there isn't any official season schedule or anything like that. You basically just have practice, whatever scrims the team can organize, and like 2 big (single elimination) tournaments a year.

Eileen

I love Haikyuu so much I’m so excited to rewatch w you guys and I finally get to experience the dub!

David L

Saiki K is one of those shows that I would only ever recommend watching in dub unless you speak Japanese, just because imo it's so much funnier not having to read along with the show. Which is mainly a bummer because they only ever dubbed the one season. Still fun in dub but just didn't hit the same.

WEEZY

The men's version of "From Enemies to lovers" Trope. LMAO.

HBelmont67

I went and saw the new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie yesterday. It was GREAT, so much fun, and it clear it embraced the corniness if it's source material. It also had a surprisingly good message regarding toxic vs healthy masculinity that I was NOT expecting, but was impressed by. And, of course, the muscle man action that Kenny would L.O.V.E. 💪🏼 I highly recommend checking it out.

Tyler

So excited to see you both react to this and hear what you think! First time watching in dub interested to see how it is

Cen Alvi

OMYGOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IM SO EXCITEDDD I LOVEEEE HAIKYUU!!!!! I LOVEEEE THAT THIS IS THE ANIME THE BOTH OF YOU WILL HAVE AAAAAAAAAHHH

David Treago

Why is 1 underlined? Captain Can you use your feet? To prevent it from hitting the ground, yes.

Kiribukai

Montana played volleyball in high school?! And she was a setter?!?! 😭 Oh, she is going to love this!! And from the discussion I can already clock who her favorite character is going to be. ❤️😏 I am seriously so happy you guys are reacting to this! This was a great reaction and I can tell this is going to be so fun for this channel! 🥰 (Oh, and the underline jersey numbers means that player is the captain of the team! Most of the time in Haikyuu the captain is player number 1, but they can also be other numbers as well.)

HBelmont67

I did NOT see that side of her coming. It's always fun when the reactor can personally relate to whatever they're watching. 😁

Noah Hoorn

Q: Was Hinata playing with the girl’s team before? A: No, he said he would try to do it himself and eventually by 8th grade gets his two friends and three 6th graders to have enough to play in an official match.

Noah Hoorn

I wasn't sure if you saw what it said when it cut away during the montage at the end. The dub doesn't automatically show the translation when Japanese writing is shown. It said "Prefectural Tournament: Kitagawa Daiichi - Bitterly Defeated" So the King (Tobio Kageyama) lost later on in that tournament after beating Shoyo Hinata. I'm so excited for this, you're going to have a blast with this show!

Kanta

Hi sorry, second comment on same post! Theres a number of episodes that should get watched together in one sitting throughout this shows four seasons- I know you guys typically do two uploads spaced out in a week as opposed to a double drop- but I’m sure the community will let yall know (me included) when those are coming up! And we’d really love if yall could consider double drops for those specific episodes!

HBelmont67

I just watched episode 8 of season one in dub. Respectfully, what part turned you off from it?

Sol Games

the underlined number means they're the captain of the team lmao!

Sol Games

I'M BACK IN THE 2020 TRENCHES

LabyrinthSouls

Yeeeeeeeeessssssss!!!! I’m SO IN guys!!!!

StorytellerDave

It as been a while since I watched a 'comfort' show, most of the things I watch are all either depressingly tragic or utterly nerve-wracking nowadays, so I am really interested in watching along :)

Kanta

I think you'll take special appreciation in Tanaka and Tsukishima's character arcs throughout the show. Obviously no ones dying in a highschool shonen about volleyball, but if I had to call anything in this show "tragic" it'd probably be their arcs lol

Amber

Hell yeah haikyuu!! I haven't watched it since i was a kid and never was able to finish it due to life stuff so i'm happy to see you guys reacting to it! Excited to get back into it after so long 😁

Damari

u guys have to watch knb (kurokos basketball)

Bob Loblaw

Had to rejoin the Patreon for Haikyuu!

ohnocj

Ahhh!!!!!!!!! HAIKYUU

AllyLee

Why would u what the dub? :/ the origial is so much better -.- I was so excited to watch this with you guys ...

art.ajk_2020

This episode was so fun to watch. It's nice to see a lil role reversal. I just finished watching your mha reactions and Kenny was in the know how there but now Montana knows a little more. Haikyuu is my comfort anime and I am really happy to see you guys reacting to it. This is the first ever episode I am watching on patreon.

art.ajk_2020

I didn't catch that kindaichi shared todoroki's va. Even though I watched mha before this show and I have watched Haikyuu 4 times at this point. It's so fun to learn new things through watching reactions of other people
