When Okarun's "goes ghost," he's not only depressed, but he also talks more casual with Momo, dropping the "Ms. Ayase" surname. He even called her "babe" in this episode. 🤣

now that we’ve gotten a bit of backstory on turbo granny, there’s a bit of retroactive context for consoling the girls who weren’t fast enough to escape their assaulters, and her decision to take okarun’s wiener when she finds him in the tunnel. i like to think that turbo granny heard Momo’s cries for help when she was captured by the aliens and granny felt a duty to save her, since this was an assault on her territory she could actually disrupt with okarun as a conduit:) thank you guys for the reaction, looking forward to next week!!💜

Apparently, the "goodbye" scene in Japanese actually uses two different words for the two different meanings, so the change in tone between the two uses of "goodbye" in the English dub is actually pretty ingenious.

Also, the "race music" is known as the William Tell Overture. This specific version is known as the William Hell Overture.

They do dub reactions because both of them have processing issues with subbed shows, IIRC. I don't remember how exactly they describe it, but they've talked about it in a few reactions.

Between interrupting Momo and Okarun's training arc and taking the curse away so he couldn't use her power, Turbo Granny's a pretty smart antagonist, ngl. Also, her counting down out of order was petty and hilarious.

In the Japanese version, they say "sayonara" to each other which is much more "definitive" (like "we won't see each other again") than just "goodbye", it's more like saying "farewell" to someone. I feel like they could have used this word but the tone change also works pretty good

I like how in the dub he calls her "babe", since simply calling her Momo wouldn't correctly signify how informal he's being.

As powerful and smart as she was, it only makes sense that Turbo Granny's weakness was her ego. If it wasn't for that she would've just turned down Momo's challenge.

So, Ken's family is never really shown. That's not to say he has a troubled home life or anything; just that author Tatsu just . . . . never really incorporates them into the story.

My only concern is how they would structure it. Would they rewatch every single episode, cause that sounds a lot to pile on to their schedule. Or would they go back to key details and moments of foreshadowing? I feel like that'd still give them a lot; this is Attack on freaking Titan we're talking about.

Imo you should save attack on titan rewatch for a rainy day that content is evergreen while new, fun and more algorithmicly favored shows that you could watch

An aot rewatch would unironically be awesome, though I personally wouldn't want it in the normal episodic slots you guys normally do for series, maybe just some episode chunks together, or just a few big compilations of the seasons, with the individual EPs being available on Patreon or something like that.

Ahh thats true, it would be a lot to edit too otherwise I would say like do 2 episodes in 1 video but only show the best parts, but they would still have to go over all that footage

They did a really good job of not just mirror translating everything, but actually translating lines to similar cultural contexts. The Japanese slang became English slang in a very natural sounding way imo, even if it'll sound a bit dated in like 10 years, I think it was the right choice.
