From this point on the series continues in the manga mostly focusing on Kurapika out of the main cast. Also it’s revealed in the manga that Gon no longer has the ability to use Nen due to the condition he put, Ging reveals that he could relearn how to use it if he chooses to but as of now Gon has just decided to move back home with Aunt Mito and live a normal life

my favorite show of all time! hxh is truly one of the greats. It’s unfortunate that the show is more than likely to not be continues but—fun fact—the manga following this show is more so focused on kurapika and what he’s been up to and will continue to do. It’s basically and mc switch & it’s so cool!

HxH is my favorite animanga. I first started watching it in 2004 when I was 8 and it was the 1999 version. The 2011 version concluded on September 24th 2014, however I didn’t get to it until October. It was October 23rd, 2014, it was 5am and I had just finished the whole anime. It was because I spent the whole night awake that I caught my mom having a stroke in time, woke my brothers up and my dad and called the ambulance. My mom had 3 brain aneurysms, one had ruptured, she got surgery on the 24th and she’s doing fine now. But it was thanks to HxH that I was awake.

the orchestral of the chimera ant arc ending they play at the beginning is honestly such a beautiful track. it’s poignant and illustrated that this really is the end 🥀🥹 “i want you to meet me, your father, in a place where no minors are allowed” i didn’t even think of it like that, ging is such an unserious man 😭 “it’s not the destination, it’s the journey and the connections you make along the way” is an apt lesson and theme of the story, and i liked that it came from the catalyst of gon’s want. like meeting ging wasn’t even this grand thing, it was just a blip in gon’s extraordinary story, and it wasn’t gon’s peak either. something about that is poetic to me, and this anime will always hold a special place in my heart. i’m so glad you guys enjoyed it too!

I feel like the monsters could just as well be as big or bigger than the swamp monster shown during the running part of the exam but that episode also feels like it was such a long time ago but still not at the same time.

Forreal. Once Naruto entered the picture, I thought it was over and done. I know Haikyuu has a big fan base, but seeing it just BARELY voted over an anime BEHEMOTH like Naruto was as surprising as it was satisfying (for me). Glad that it won and that Kenny and Montana get to branch out some more instead of starting, like, the tenth shonen anime on this channel.

I've rewatched like, at least 7 shows with yall! I got my start because I was looking for reactors to AoT, and for the LIFE of me I couldn't find reactions to season 2 (I think it was) Then I have watched entirely new series exclusively through yall too (like Gravity Falls, and will include haikyuu now on the watch list) Look forward to more and more with you guys!

Yeah no kidding! I look forward to checking out haikyuu for the first time with them! Me personally, until they are on board with watching shippuden (no filler) along with og (let's be honest...its kinda a requirement haha) id rather see a no filler bleach or yu yu hakusho watch! (Hopefully i can gather support for either through the haikyuu watch Haha)

Agreed! You HAVE to do the entirety, and that is UNDERSTANDABLY a HUGE undertaking considering, even without filler, thats still HUNDREDS of episodes

Precisely. OG Naruto on its own, even without "filler", is a big watch, but it's also only PART of the story. Starting it with the intent of not watching the even LONGER second part in Shippuden would been a mistake, so I'm glad they chose the more concise Haikyuu, instead.

Well, we know a new HxH volume is releasing July 3rd, so new chapters may be sooner than we think! Togashi seems to be super motivated. I'm loving this current arc, but the hiatuses make it hard to remember all the events. Hopefully, we'll see a continuation of the anime someday for the anime-only folks!

Yeah that definitely irked me a bit. It makes him sound a bit more greedy and a bit less awestruck than intended. Always dreaming of something that lies beyond the horizon is more appropriate for a single-minded adventurer type like Ging.

I do like that it is A good ending, even if it doesn't feel like THE ending. Which is appropriate since this series does a good job imo of feeling like a living world that doesn't only move because Gon interacts with it. So naturally even though Gon has effectively reached the end of his personal story, the world won't stop turning and more stories will keep happening. Plus given how influential the story is, I have decent confidence that at least one anime studio will be eager for the chance to animate the next chapter of the HxH story, once there is enough of the story to warrant animating.

I also had no idea! Like Ive suggested haikyuu many times in my monthly suggestions, but I *never* saw this coming! 😂 but I'm not mad! I can't wait And yeah I also agree. Not watching shippuden would just be a disservice. Its more than half of the entire story. But shippuden would be a HUGE undertaking 😅 @Jinchuriki bleach no filler would be sick. Kenny would die of peak from Thousand Year Blood War 😂

A tidbit about the Dark Continent. It is said whoever goes to the dark continent comes back and is afflicted with a curse and we know one of those curses was Nanika. I think it was great grandpa Zoldyck who went. That is why they never considered Alluka as family, just the embodiment of a curse

Climbing the tree feels like it would've been its own little training arc early in the show, when it would've been a struggle, but now it's just light casual work for him in less than half an episode.

Ging is a terrible father 100%. He also does not need to make everything needlessly difficult for Gon. That being said, in a weird way, he is a "good" role model for Gon. Gon is described as being very similar to his father. Extremely talented, devoted to his friends, and very driven. As terrible as all the actions he has done to Gon in being a lousy father, Gon would not be where he is now without his completely exceptional "father". Without Ging choosing his goals over his child, Gon would not be where he is today.

So everything is great as always I just feel like the only thing not wrapped was kurapika and thats because the next arc basically follows him which the show didn’t get a chance to animate but it stings that we basically didn’t see him again since the 2nd big arc of the show I wish the show had found someway to include more if they knew they wouldn’t get to actually continue that part of the story esp since gon kind of paralleled him during the chimera ant arc. the next arcs aren’t bad but ik you guys can’t really react to them glad you like the show!!!

The constant need to roll your eyes at an absent father while this series has literal kid diddlers and serial killers who don't get half the response he does is indicative of some weird form of virtue signalling that millennials have developed. If you don't act this way to every less than moral character in fiction you're either too lazy to do so when those characters are on screen or you're just a performative hypocrite. Btw I don't think Ging is a Good Dad, just in case you wanted to stamp a label on me and dismiss me as an evil human being.

I’m not sure if you plan on reading the manga but if you are then skip this comment. The place you saw is called “the dark continent” it is a place banned to travel to by netero, netero banned this place because he actually went when he was younger to seek a strong adversary he can battle, but he did not go alone, he went with the old lady who’s the older hunter in the chairman election arc and killuas great grandpa. It’s also implied in the manga that nanika is a being from the dark continent called “ai” which is a gaseous entity that slightly resembles nanikas eyes and mouth and the way she talks. It is theorized that killuas great grandfather (known as zzig zoldyck)who went with netero to the dark continent brought home this being which then at some point took over the body of alluka which then made nanika. That’s why the zoldycks say “that thing comes from a different place”. It’s also theorized that zig zoldyck also brought home the family watchdog Mike. Just like you the rest of us really wish the hxh show can continue and we can get the anime adaptation of the dark continent!

Being absent does not make you a terrible father, its the reason why you are absent and the lack of trying. Idk why you are defending it when the author himself literally thinks so too. Why would he write any of the lines where the crowd are crapping on Ging about being a terrible father. Ging was not only absent but he made no attempt to write to his son, never asked to see how his son is doing, and only cared about his pursuit to find the things he can't have. He is a terrible father because Gon was not even a thought when it came to Ging's ambition

For a series that is famous for being unfinished, the anime actually has a better ending than most series endings that we've got. It ended at a really good spot in the manga. We know that there's more to the world and the story can expand but we got an ending to a saga - Gon finding Ging.

In terms of animation. HxH was produced weekly. Compared to modern animes that are seasonal. And HxH was still able to maintain consistent animation throughout. And I believe its strength lies more in its animation direction mostly in chimera ant rather than fighting animation.
