If it helps we have two separate tournaments. interhigh prelims and spring qualifiers, with a gap of a few months. We're in interhigh right now. They both lead to a nationals tournament. spring would be later, sometime before graduation. Spring is a harder commitment for people that would be graduating soon, so 3rd years may choose to not play in spring games. Theres a certain expectation if youre in a club, youre doing that *all* of the time, you dont really join multiple, and you actually attend club pretty much every single day. The Date tech 3rd year captain is basically saying his year would be sitting out for spring since his under classmen were pulling more than their share of weight.

Fantastic conclusion to this game! Nishinoya’s foot save! And the Iron Wall opening up at the end! 😭 Perfection! I know Kenny was talking about loving a good offense, but as someone who grew up hearing Nick Saban say “defense wins championships” and as a middle blocker myself, I actually love Date Tech as a team so much! Unless you are just crazy good a hitting quicks, I feel like being a MB is such a thankless position and even good blocks are sometimes overshadowed by the other more flashy parts of the game, so I just love Date Tech’s emphasis on blocking and how they made that their entire reputation! Fun Fact: Furudate, Haikyuu’s author, was a middle blocker in high school! And now on to the next one… seriously SO excited for you to see Oikawa in action as a setter! 🥰 I can’t believe I have to wait til Thursday! 😭

like Noya, I also think it's cooler to have a cool save rather than a cool spike

As a libero, I feel like it's in Nishinoya's job description to have some of the most clutch moments in Haikyu. That foot save was INSANE.

Asahi's English VA, Orlanders Jones, has been kind of hit-or-miss in this dub for me, but he REALLY shined in this episode. That yell he gave when he FINALLY broke through the Iron Wall with that last spike was so good. 😆 Also, everyone cheering him on in that scene gave me the same vibes and chills as everyone shouting "You got this!" to Deku in My Hero Academia: Final Season.

The lil plot at the beginning was so fun.

I got emotional over the Asahi scene.
