I personally always took the hinata missing over kenma moment him having tried to tool the ball off his hands, and Kenma noticed, he just had missed. He even noted himself the first time he did it that it was a fluke and he wasn't super accurate yet (I ball with your thoughts on it too lmao)

Appreciate how you two have lowkey locked in to the shipping side of haikyuu lmao. While I'm a little biased (I literally have Kenma and Kuroo sitting together on my desk) Kenma and Hinata do have kind of have that vibe sometimes.

This is exactly it. Not against shipping at all, but this moment is 100% kenma being observant enough to notice that Hinata is trying to aim his hits in different ways, and Hinata's eye was supposed to represent him focusing in on the target.
