How is MHA winning....

Camilo Mella

Guys, i know we are tied with Hero Aca, But hero Aca is a whole behemot of a series spanning at this point more than 120 episodes. I believe Code geass for it chess smart style or spy vs family for it's wholesomeness are a better fit for the channel if you ask me

Bazil
>>104426487

It has to be the most mid anime out right now. Like it has all the tools to be a cool shonen but it's just so boring

SleppyPanda

As long as its not Spy x familie i look forward to it

Cassandra Nightshade

The only possible reason I would have to vote for anything other than MHA is just cause I wanna see Montana react to Gojo and Sukuna. Cause so far she's had the same crushes as me. So I am curious to see if those two do anything to her 🤣

jolly
>>104426487

well, that’s your opinion! it’s a great anime and if it can’t hold your attention maybe don’t watch it or hate on it, it’s that easy.

Markub El Jaden

is it okay to keep suggesting anime other than the ones in polls?

Callum Ringsy

MHA is great. I told my brother for years he'd love it and he didn't listen, but now he's obsessed xD

Cassandra Nightshade
>>104426600

I have been waiting for My Hero Academia on this channel for over a year. I don't care that it has a lot of episodes. I don't care that it isn't over, I don't care that other animes are shorter. I want MHA 🥰🤌

Cassandra Nightshade

I'm sure spyxfamily is delightful. Chainsaw man and code geass too. But right now it's MHA or bust for me. With a mild caveat that I'd be okay with JJK after some grumbling 🤣🥰🥺

Camilo Mella
>>104426600

For 1 it's not finished, though you can argue it will br when they are done, but I'm a bit worried about others series they could do that would better use that slot. I haven't watched spy vs family with dub, i just know that it was my N2 series this year in JP at least. But overall i will support whichever the community chooses

annie

mha is so long tho, id prefer shorter series tbh

jolly

just wanna say- don’t listen to peoples opinions on mha stated as a fact, it’s a great anime imo and i think both of y’all will love it.

Jenoze Wyvern

Looking forward to HunterXHunter in the future poll

Bazil
>>104426600

'How is 120 a behemoth series' You do realize that's more episodes than every single show on that list combined right? And it's not even finished yet.

Blubber Nuggets

We seriously need to get Violet Evergarden on one of these lists sometime

Honey

Honestly Spy X Family or MHA would make me happy either way. I just wanna be able to watch you guys react to more shows I've seen tbh~

Cassandra Nightshade
>>104426600

Neither was attack on titan. It's still ongoing. That wasn't a problem so I'm sure MHA not being over will also not be a problem. 🥰

fr0st

Nothing once again that chainsaw man is excellent but really explicitly gory and gross and Montana may not be up for that level yet. Just something to consider as voting going on. That said, anything but mha and code Geass on this list is my vote

fr0st

Also may be worth checking the quality of the dubs. I know the chainsaw man dub is excellent, unsure about the rest of these options.

Tyler Jacobs

I'm gonna put Kaguya-sama: Love is War down here as a future suggestion.

Geneva

Rwby or priority wonder egg should be on this list eventually

Bazil

Also one more thing about mha is that it does have a copious amounts of child sexualization (and sexualization in general). Anime fans that are kind of desensitized to it don't mind but Montanna might be a little bothered. Oh and let's not forget La Brave 😑

Bazil
>>104426600

Also 120 episodes make MHA the 124th longest anime of all time.

Mortis

Please watch fruits basket 2019 anyway. It’s never gonna win a poll it’s fanbase in the west is to small for enough of it to also be in your fanbase but it’s a masterpiece and you will love it. It’s got a lot of deep emotions and psychology to analyze which is right up your alley.

Mortis
>>104430656

La brava does not look like a child and the fact that people insist on acting like she does just cause she’s short is is honestly bordering on bigotry towards little people

Mortis
>>104426475

Bazil
>>104430656

Even if La Brave does not look like a child to you, the fact is that she still meets Gentle when she is an actual child. She literally shows up on Gentle's door wearing a school backpack. Not to mention that even as an adult she throws child like tantrums.

Mortis
>>104429413

MHA dub varies a bit but sides more often with being good. Occasionally some characters screaming something will sound bad in English but most of the time it’s solid

jolly

chainsaw man deserves more votes😩😩

Geneva
>>104429917

Yeah it really could be either depending on how they want to categorize it

Geneva

Y'all think Montana can handle chainsaw man

Gestrid

Definitely voting for MHA! This season has been the best one yet!

Nathan Grenawalt
>>104429413

Yeah, the MHA dub's only real weakness is that a bunch of teenagers sound like they are 30. But they are very talented and emotive 30-year olds, so it's fine.

fr0st
>>104431080

+100 Fruits basket really is the best fit for y'all's theme so far, since it has a lot of dealing with trauma and mental health issues that come about due to a very specific magical situation and manipulation piled on top of that.

fr0st
>>104433012

I think it will be incredibly off putting to her, ngl. That is a very sensible reaction to a fair few things, even putting aside the heavy gore element. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about, folks.

fr0st

I don't want to assume so asking in case Kenny sees this and has an answer: did y'all decide on the direction of the channel for anime being action or are you still considering it being open for either action (which is most shonen series in this poll, tbh) or more slice of life/romcom/emotions heavy stuff

Recable

Code Geass please.

Liz

My realy vote is for Fruits basket!

Ela

If my hero doesn’t win I’ll riot😭😭😭

Darthwin Wright

Code Geass is a great show to watch after Death Note and has a similar feel to it. SpyxFamily is pretty good also.

Daolord Badlands

The English dubs for Code Geass and JJK are pretty good. I haven't watched any of the others so I couldn't comment on them.

Leenis

Just finished Spy X Family with my girls, and it was a much needed emotional pick me up that had us laughing out loud in every episode at least once.

Ksweets

This is too close 🫠at least if spy x family wins it’s a short show

Stephen

code geass honestly has the best plot and anticipation on this list and 10/10 anime

Peter Amet

Code Geass makes sense since it's from the same era as Death Note, it's like perfect

wahninomae

Spy X Family would be a great choice to try out different genres of anime.

jolly

mha for sure

Thyodor Cloudbreath

I really hope that this is NOT the final poll. You should at least have a run-off between the top 2 IMO, but even if not, I hope you enjoy the show that you pick :) (No I'm not salty that MHA is just 4 votes behind, of course not :P )

Peter Amet

I think it would be crazy to do MHA since it would take 146 videos atm to finish, 3 years with at least 1 more season planned + 3 movies. Chainsaw Man could be finished in 6 weeks, JJK and Spy in 3 months and Code Geass in 6 but even that has 4 movies (which are now cannon and would take way less) I just think comitting to series as long as MHA or Naruto is tough unless it's an extra. I didn't want to watch FMA but followed along for Death Note eventually. I mean Kenny if you wanna do MHA cause you love it maybe I can offer to edit MHA as a 5th video a week while y'all watch Code Geass or another shoter series or two and eventually it could replace Demon Slayer since that's only another 34 weeks of reactions. Owl House, 2 Anime and Demon Slayer + MHA Extras? Happy to help!

Darthwin Wright

In terms of length, MHA has a lot of episodes and multiple canon films (138 episodes). That is pretty massive compared to the other shows listed. Chainsaw man has 12, JK has 24, SpyxFamily has 25 and Code Geass has 50 total. MHA has more episodes than the other options have combined.

Scar

Something tells me they are not excited about Spy Famliy. It's won like 4 polls in a row but they coming back with a new one lol .

Angela Zhu

Maybe you guys could watch the first episode of each of the 5 shows and decide from there?

Jinchuriki87

Worse case scenario, y'all can always take like the top 3 and do a watch 2 episodes and check interaction comparison like y'all have done with previous picks. If people are unhappy (which you'll ALWAYS have regardless) just make it a point to come back to the other top picks!

Tristan Reynolds

Not on the list but Soul Eater is a classic.

Fukkyu Bisch

Code Geass... Only logical pick on this list to watch right after death note.

MacarooniR0b

How do you compare Patreon Polls to YouTube polls? I see some shows are getting more votes on YouTube than Patreon. How does that weigh into your decision?

Letts React
>>104503460

Good question! At the end of the day, the decision is between me and Montana what shows we do next, and the polls and comments serve as "evidence" that any given show is a good choice. Basically, we take the sum total of all of these different ways and choose the top 2 shows based on that, then watch their pilots, then decide. Or, if one choice obviously wins we will just go with that choice. Depends on the series.

fr0st

Violet Evergarden and Erased need more love. Absolutely on board with shorter shows, long shonen anime are not my thing for reactions personally.

Darthwin Wright
>>104426600

Yeah, but at least the manga for AOT is done and had less episodes than MHA. The manga from my understanding is not complete yet. A nearly done show like AOT or Owl House is isn't exactly the same.

Eileen Hinman
>>104429413

I enjoyed the dubs for JJK and SpyxFamily. Gojo’s, Loid’s, and Nanami’s voice actors <33

Honey
>>104488156

These aren't polls to decide what they watch, they're to weed out the series that the have the least amount of interest from the community. Once they have a good idea of which are the most wanted they'll watch the first episode of each and decide which they want to watch after.

Brain Lee

Btw if you end up watching the first episode of spy x family there’s a after credit scene.

eli_lane

Comments on a show's length implying that's a negative thing admittedly confuse me when all remaining shows (minus Code Geass) are currently in-progress and pretty much guaranteed to have a minimum of 2 or 3 more seasons in production based on current manga length (MHA is at 382 chapters, JJK 217, CSM 123, and SxP 77). That could be anywhere from 1-3 years down the line when those continue, so it's not so much that Kenny and Montana will be finishing shows as they will be catching up to watch with the rest of us. :) I'm sure someone's pointed that out already but I wanted to mention again in the event it would affect their decision any (since starting more shorter series now leads to juggling in the event multiple series drop episodes in the future). With this in mind I really think how you guys select should depend on how you enjoy watching things. If you don't mind a longer wait in between updates and want to experience a wider variety of anime faster, then you'll like choosing the shorter series first. If you'd rather have longer time to watch through and immerse yourself in a single world and its characters, I think Code Geass or MHA would be the better pick. Code Geass because it's a completed series and MHA because it's near-complete (and I suspect the end will be on the horizon by the time Kenny and Montana catch up to the anime, leading to an AOT-esque experience when it comes to the finale. Whether or not you both find the wait exhilarating or exhausting will determine whether this is a good or bad thing 😂) Personally my pick is for Code Geass or My Hero based on that logic. I'd rather stick with y'all on a series I know I love watching for a long time than risk the voting next round turn to a show I don't like/haven't seen. Considering Kenny bringing up MHA I admit I'm biased towards that option, since I already know he likes it and appreciates the show for what it is. I do think certain aspects will take time for Montana to warm up to (or outright ignore, like most of us do in regards to a Certain Character), but I'm confident you guys will enjoy the experience overall. Please show her the first two episodes at least! (Wow this got so long. So sorry for the block of text 😂)

Peter Amet
>>104540796

There's an insane difference between 12 episodes NOW and maybe another 12 in 2024 AND 146 episodes NOW. Sure Chainsaw will get more seasons and what not but these can be caught up on. If MHA is picked as the series they will watch for 86 weeks meaning it's the only anime they watch until JANUARY 2025 but if they watched Chainsaw Man or JuJutsu Kaisen they'd be caught up by 6-24 weeks time which is before even December. So Yeah I think there's a massive difference especially the point I was making earlier is if you don't like Korra or Death Note or what not you skip a few weeks of Patreon or don't watch every ep, if people don't like MHA it's almost 2 full years of reactions before they can do a new series. Especially if you add the time to finish AOT and Death Note. So the point I was tryna make is I don't think a show longer than 12 months should be the main series tackled. Maybe do it as a bonus video OR do 2 anime at the same time not 2 eps of an anime a week. I offered to help edit because personally bias here, after Death Note, with Owl House and MHA for 2 years i'd not really watch until towards the end of MHA and binge it.

Peter Amet
>>104503460

I know it's Bias but I beg if it's MHA as it seems do 2 anime 1 ep each a week. I love y'all, but I dunno if i'd follow the first 3 or 4 seasons along and that's like a year of reactions. You could get someone to edit MHA or the other anime and do it as an extra too have like 5 videos a week

Lugubrious
>>104510653

Erased is such a good show to react to. Hope we see it get more attention as a reaction pick

eli_lane
>>104540796

The point I was making is you can get a different viewing experience 'binging' an anime (or as close as react channels ever get to a binge) instead of watching a season and then waiting however many years it takes for the next cour to come out to watch it then. Should that have an effect on their enjoyment of the series I think it's something for them to take into consideration.

Eisteepizza

My vote is still for Code Geass. It´s a great show and seems the most logical pick after Death Note. This anime is great for discussions and the dub is really good.

Jarrod Clemens
>>104575629

Last vote I said if they choose CG i'll sub for an entire year. I'm only here for a month as it is, and i'm waiting for the announcement on baited breath ^^.

Scar

While I’m hoping for mha it’s gonna be crazy with how long it is and I just hope y’all are prepared for it

emelsi

So, uh, season 1 (and probably the only season, unfortunately) of Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei just ended today. Once the Bluray and dub is released, it would make for a good option between some of the larger series.

GM Richter

Code Geass is a classic. If you like Death Note and AoT, you will like Code Geass. Personally, it is my favorite series, followed closely by the Fate Series.

Rj Casido

hello, i been a member for months, and i really love and enjoy the analysis and reactions you guys make, one of my favorite anime is not in this list, but i believe you both will enjoy, i hope the other members will bring this anime some recognition and help me recommend it to you guys, the title is Parasyte: The Maxim, a short series, but definitely right up your alley.
