Hey folks and welcome to a quick Patreon update post!

Over the years, you have supported me with hard earned cash, great ideas, wonderful banter and even some excellent jokes!

This Patreon has been evolving with time too. We have added Jade tier due to popular demand, we have been hosting numerous polls and surveys, we've been releasing a steady flow of development blogs which show you behind the scenes of our design documents and how we come up with ideas.

I try to spice things up from time to time, but it's important I understand exactly what your expectations are for this platform.

This is your moment to suggest changes to how we run things. Nothing is off the table! Please, do let me know what you'd like to see on this Patreon.

Is some tier too expensive? Is some benefit too boring and irregular? Would you like to see some new added benefits? Have your say, and help me ensure that this Patreon page is your favourite hangout spot!

Have a Brontosaurus to convince you to have your say.

I'm happy paying the lowest tier price for regular updates on which mods are coming.

Honestly, as what I think might be the silent majority, I'm just content remaining with my steel tier and seeing the Dev logs as it currently stands. If I cared about steering the direction of development in some way (even if it realistically speaking would have no/only a minor impact) I would've gotten some higher tier, so that's that 😛

I am content with the current approach. Updates are quite frequent, interesting and very detailed. It would be fun if you'd answer to more comments - I know you are answering to many of them, but I am always curious what do you think about people's ideas, so more the better. Thank you for all these years of hard work, I hope that it will continue, as nothing makes me this happy as new roadmap or new release from your team :)

For me the level of engagement available now is just fine, mostly because I tend not to interact much. I subscribe because I love the mods you guys make, and you're doing a really excellent job of making a game I enjoy so much better. I did look at the other tiers earlier today and consider changing to one of the higher ones, but I didn't see much that appealed to me. I get updates here, so I don't need the discord for that, and I don't have many suggestions to make because you guys clearly know what you are doing. Vanilla expanded has, and will continue to define what Rimworld is for me and I am happy to just give the team some deserved compensation for that.

I became a patron recently and am happy with what we get out of it. The only thing I'd recommend is making it more clear when the Typical Tuesday suggestion threads happen, I had the impression they happen every Tuesday and that doesn't seem to be the case (not a big deal at all, but clarification is good!). The only thing I want is that brontosaurus in game now.

When I get emails with those lengthy infographics I think to myself "oh this'll be *perfect* for my next trip to the bathroom" =D But seriously, I'm pretty happy with the current scope and pace of things. I do want to see another hardcover book tho. I don't even know what it should be about, I just know the first one was pretty cool.

Tbh, I am subscribed to show my gratification for your great work. Been using your mods since the halo armors. Having access to the discord is quite nice too though.

Balmarian

You guys do an excellent job and I am very happy to be here

I wasn't gonna say anything, but I can't resist that brontosaurus. As someone who is very active on Discord, I kinda wish that was available at a lower tier. Otherwise I think you guys do a great job.

For my part, I subscribed originally because of two reasons: 1. So I can get the early details on your upcoming mods in a single easy to find/use space so I can be perpetually hyped, while I pretend the posts are more personal than anywhere else you drop info. 2. To provide a small gratuity for all your work in making this game, and the community at large, better. I realize my contribution is more symbolic than helpful, but I still hope it goes some way towards a thank you for you and the team. Looking at the other tiers, aside from just throwing money at you to bribe you to keep making/updating mods, the benefits to me seem awkward, personally. I'm dubious about the value my opinion would have, since I'm not a creative. I mean, I can throw rubbish at the wall and see if it sticks I guess. haha I loved the posts about the design philosophy of the team, and I'm guessing this is mostly what's going on with the Discord server. I already have too many servers, and I like having a single point for info from you with summarized entries. The idea of combing a conversation backlog sounds like too much. But adding too much here could devalue that perk for higher tier members. TLDR: I dunno, without getting into a whole cost analysis discussion, I'm happy right now. You're a dreamboat, so follow your heart, my dude.

There is nothing really I can think of to complain about, VE is an incredible thing and all I can do is give you money and thank you for all the effort and time you put into your mods, so yea sorry for no constructive feedback :).

I am Bender, please insert ~girder~ Steel Devblogs.

I would love to see all mods slowly re-flavored to be Deserter Themed. All the vehicle mods, for example, could have Deserter varients. Or be Deserter variant as baseline, with alternatives. The Vampires should be Deserter baseline with special regular vampires as a rare sub type. Even better, we could combine RimEffect and Deserter and have Deserter Asari, Deserter Reapers, even Deserter Deserters from Cerebus. Please all I ask is more Deserter content. In fact all content should be Deserter Content. Deserter. Deterter. Drtrt.

only criticism id offer to the Patreon structure is that discord access is valueless to me personally and it seems odd to make it a higher tier reward, the people who do use discord actively enough to value that may find the cost of entry a bit much but this is all coming from someone who doesnt use public servers at all

John Labuda

My only suggestion is to work on things FASTER! /s yall are doing amazing work, keep it up!

C.W. Elliotte

No criticism from me! Paying a buck a month to support someone continually breathing more life into one of my favorite games is a pretty good deal, and getting regular updates on what's coming up is a great bonus.

Tony Gutierrez

Just here to say thank you for the work you and your team does. I appreciate the updates and look forward to more mods in the future!

Yuggie

If Plasteel tier is 40-45 eur, I would have it now... just saying xD

First of all, I also am happy with what I am currently getting from the VE patreon. More often than not I'm limited by when I have time to engage with the content rather than by what's available. I love the roadmaps and more in-depth presentations of upcoming mods because I can read it at my leisure when I have time. So even if nothing changes, I'm still happy to participate and leave a grateful comment from time to time, just so you know there are more people appreciating your work than some comment sections might lead you to believe. That said, there are some ideas which could help me and other in a similar situation to get even more from all the content you post. Might be well outside of the scope of this post, might be too much work to be worth it, might already be covered by discord (I really need to have a look there), but brontosaurus said "nothing is off the table", so : I'd love to have an easier way to access past content. I'm describing it vaguely on purpose because I'm not fixated on a specific solution, but the example I have in mind is a good old forum. A place where I could go when I finally get around to try a big mod (I just discovered and will never play again without psycast expanded) to reread all the infos, the helpful tips and comments of users, maybe some know bugs or changelogs. I usualy search the relevant posts on patreon and go through the comments section on patreon and steam, so that's not like the information is not there, but it requires time. And while going through comments on patreon is usualy at least funny, going through a few pages of comments on steam usually involves needing to go through a lenghty recovery period before being able to open my browser again. It doesn't have to be fancy, it could even be just a google doc for each big mod/mod serie with a link to all relevant posts on patreon, spreadsheets with relevant numbers, a list of changelog, useful comments, etc. But it absolutely can be fancy and become a new shining beacon of wisdom and hub for the community, with all kind of wiki and guides, modmods, direct download of the mods and Brontosaurus, a helpful chatbot to get you all the information you need. I'll leave that at that, it's already long anough and others might have more concrete ideas and/or confirm if anybody would find something like this or part of it interesting.

Honestly, a Vanilla expanded Wiki could be really nice and cool. All of the in game descriptions are really cool, and some info about the mods + their interactions would be cool to have all in one place.

Introverted Gamer

No complaints. You guys do a great job keeping Rimworld interesting. I do enjoy the suggestions / polling threads. It makes me feel more invested (both in the outcome of the mod and that I'm getting more value for the donation). I agree with other posters that a Wiki would be nice because I often find myself flipping through different Steam page entries while in game to find out info. One place to find everything would be nice.

I received enough free content that I felt an allocation of money was only fair. You're still well above the value I pay, and I will likely adjust it up next quarter. I would have liked a better idea of when Vehicles was coming, as I saw it on the queue and put off starting a new game for a month and a half before giving up, but I do understand that as my error in retrospect.
