I spent the last two weeks of June on vacation in the south of France, in a remote area called the Cevennes. We had booked a little house on a property that was teeming with animals. There were chickens, pigeons, ducks, dogs, horses, and a few cats too. One of the cats, Moka, instantly stole our hearts. He was the sweetest little kitty. He loved to be cuddled and held, and always came to greet us in the morning. He would hang out with us and fall asleep in our arms. We had such a hard time saying goodbye to him, although I’m sure he’s stolen the hearts of the new guests too! Here’s a little portrait of this precious little dude, plus some photos. I miss little Moka so much!

Oooh les Cevennes ! It reminds very great memories of all the summer I past there. Hope that you passed good times there too! And this cat is adorable!

Goomy Design

Oh wow, he has the most beautiful blue eyes 💕

Beautiful artwork and lovely Moka! 💜😃💜 It looks like you spent some enjoyable days there. I think it's so important to enjoy free time and relax. Thanks Loish for sharing these impressions with us and have a great day! 🙃

I am a French fan and the Cévennes is a bit like my second home! I'm really glad you like this place. Which village did you go to? I know many cottages there which offer splendid landscapes if that interests you!

Amélie

That's impossible to not love him instantly 😍 so cute !

Unfassbar gut! Unbelievably good! I said that several times and I think I shouldn‘t show this picture to my husband over and over again. 😅 But I love it! I‘m so curious to see the things you explore. I like your characters a lot, but these other things, animals, environments you draw a lot lately are a really fascinating mix of colors, reduction, intent, and things I can‘t properly name. Really cool! 💕

Okay first, Moka is ADORABLE. Those blue eyes in that last picture....wow! And secondly, that's a gorgeous piece! I love the looseness of it, it's so calming.

Niquey

Oh so cute! That's such a loving cat! 💕

I can’t figure out how you made this wall texture. The render is so accurate, and yet the pencil strokes seem so random overlapping thingies… Duh. Hello from (west) France, btw.

This looks sooo cozy and it makes me miss travelling so so much! Been in lockdown for almost two months now here in Malaysia ;-; Moka is so adorbs, those baby blues omg! I'm surprised you didn't paint his eyes a bright blue :D

What a cutie! I can totaly understand why you fell in love with him 😊 Sounds like a very enjoyable vacation. The illustration is divine and it invites me to enjoy the enviroment you captured. I have to admit lately I've been enjoying your environment pieces more than girl illustrations. They always kinda invite me to imagine myself in the scene and make me wanna explore the worlds you portray.

Those blue eyes! So why did you choose dark eyes in the sketch? Glad you had a great vacay with new furr friends!

Greg Schultz

Glad you got a vacation. Specially glad to see you continue to branch out. I agree with Tina, above.

Piotr Kostecki

I've never seen such blue eyes on a cat! Lucky guy has been immortalized on this beautiful portrait, good for him :) ❤️

Sasalele

What a precious furball🥺🥺

Pricella

Will we be getting the time-lapse for this beautiful piece?

Liesbeth Tatjana

These colors are so wonderful! Makes me think of summer for sure 🌸

Would it be really weird if I asked which house you rented? Because I’ve been wondering about taking a small break and was wondering about the South of France for a change and my boyfriend loves animals (his future image of our house sounds like a farm). So that’s kind of a coincidence. Could you recommend the place?
