Hey everyone!

I was recently interviewed about myself and my work with Artemis and wanted to share this. It's my first interview and next one I do, I'll definitely write notes/points to questions ahead of time. Because I did drift from questions, going on some tangents lol. One question regarding AI can prob be skimmed as I noticed I repeated myself there.

But to that point, I did have a lot to say about AI and I'm glad the comment about it was left on last week's DevLog. Because it seemed pretty double standard (not the person specifically); the consensus seems to mark AI as bad because it steals/trains off other peoples work with no consent, yet for reasons AI music is okay. Like, don't steal someone's art, but their music is free rein. I'm not trying to single anyone out from last weeks comments, just using it as an example to my point. AI is very gray area and I feel a lot of people are quick to just write off AI. But more importantly, I share what I share with you guys because I'm wanting to show that I've gone through many pathways for music that support artists. And the sources have made it VERY difficult to want to use and support music from real artists. I don't have to have a kneejerk reaction to something, so you all can see the struggles that pretty much narrowed my options toward AI because as I state in the interview, with everything going on AI music is essentially allows me to use it however I want. Playing with a few tracks this week, I can craft tracks that better fit the mood of the scene.

As a creator, I felt it was important to show what I've been doing and how I landed on a decision, rather than immediately go the easy route. Because I still prefer hiring someone for music. I just prefer the collaboration and precise tweaking of a track (or anything creative) you get when working with someone. But for a general clubbing track or elegant piano for whatever the scene needs, AI music seems to fit the bill in this current environment of music and adult content. Anyway, I just wanted to expand more on it because of the current climate AI has in general.

In regard to development itself, I'm in constant review of things. Even to the days leading up to release. The current hurdle I'm working right now is the order of events. A lot of you point out the story's flow and that does give me a nice warm tingle inside because it's something that I mull over a lot. And this chapter I'm trying to make short because it's aimed at tying things up and setting up the stage for Book 3. But organizing the flow of events and giving these scenes room to breathe was a tough one. So much is happening across the span of 3 days, you kind of have to tweak things a bit to spread it out just a bit more. I'm being vague for a reason to avoid spoilers, lol. Each chapter covers roughly a week of story, but in this chapter there's three days where events happen that I had to re-organize to make them flow better.

Enough yapping though. I've stabilized the Sacred Timeline. Artemis will return in AVNgers Goonsday Chapter 8. Manwhore playthrough or you guys eyeing someone(s) specific for this chapter's going steady choice?

Stay hydrated and cool :)

p.s. - I double checked the video and shouldn't have problems showing. But in case it didn't, here's the link to it

Man AI is such a hotspot. Especially with music and AVNs. As it stands, I have a project 2 chapters in and I found a free to use artist that fits the vibe. I used them. Now I get to hold my breath because even if it is CC-BY, they can revoke based on morality clause. Only CC0 avoids this. It literally gives me anxiety thinking about what songs going forward. You literally have a character intertwined with music so it makes it worse. I've seen other projects lose songs (LoF big one and BaD come to mind). It is all great having enough success to commission songs or talent to make your own, but starting out it's a big ask to drop thousands of dollars on music. Started watching the interview and will get back to it soon. 👍

I loved the interview! I downloaded episode 7 yesterday and I am doing my third playthrough now. I love all your LI but my favourites at the moment would be Kindra, June and Reina/Naomi being very close behind. Looking forward to doing a dedicated run for Artemis once that's fleshed out more.

The AI Art V.S. Music debate. Here's my take: Music is highly controlled by the record industry, not the artists. Art doesn't have that. Art is directly in the hands of the Artist. Screw the Corpos, save the Artists. Is there a temporary harm to the artists? Yes. But casualties happen in war. When the record industry stops screwing their artists, I'll flip sides.

Just finished listening. Great interview . Glad I found this novel this year. And I think the A in avn is done well in Artemis. But just like Drifty’s LOF you are doing such a great job with the story I want to talk to others about the game but so many think negatively of the adult part. So one of the few I talk to is my wife who I got to play LOF. When you are done with this I will see if she will play this
