Happy Monday!

Was in Blender this week. And wanted to share some bits about it since Blender can be controversial for some people. Referring to how it looks, etc. People have their preference. Daz has been the go-to render so its settled in peoples minds. Not to mention there's a significant learning curve, so unlike Daz. There's gonna be some stark differences in how the render turns out. I can already tell you right now, aside from the blue blemish i mentioned already. Her skin needs a bit more shine. It has a matte look to it. And her hair is nice. could use a bit more sheen, but it looks like hair nonetheless.

Top render is blender and bottom is daz. Two different render engines and the exact same model. Daz shot has various light sources from the environment. But you load the figure in and 90% of the work is done already.

Blender takes a lot of work. Artemis had a nice tan when I loaded her into Blender and you can see I still need to tweak her skin shader a more. There's also a blue tint around her eyes, that's due to the SSS shader that makes skin look translucent. I need to tweak it so she doesn't look like she's dehydrated lmao.

But there is a difference in how its rendered DAZ|IRAY/Blender|Cycles. Models are exactly the same. Also, lighting is a major factor. I've had to tone down her skin a lot. When lighting changes, you have to adjust the skin depending on the scene's lighting. So, it's a lot of fine tuning between scenes.

I wanted to share this because since working on Artemis and being in AVN community. And well, to be honest. it just seems like the societal norm now, haha. Tons of misinformation gets spread rather quickly. People speaking as if they were the ones who worked on it lol. After releasing CH7, I did hang out on forums did some correcting of things being said and got busy again, lol.

This is why my devlogs are shaped the way they are. they're designed to be informative of what i do and why i do it. some tidbits, random stuff with development, etc. creating something is more than just numbers and words. i like sharing the details of what goes on behind the scenes.

Also, as you guys know I didn't renew my contract with Universal for the music. I'm going to see how AI created tracks ago. The contract is $2,500 a year and i found myself settling on tracks rather than creating tracks specifically for my scenes. That said, i'd like to see how reception goes for the tracks this chapter. The DJ Kink Studio will finally return since being disabled when the music fiasco happened around CH2 or 3. I'll also be able to package the tracks so anyone who has enjoyed it can save them. This week, I'll be sharing a preview. I've hesitated on whether or not I share Artemis scenes. Mainly because she has a lot going on this chapter. But I like this particular scene and the shot I'm thinking is spoiler free.

Have yourselves a great week! Weather is finally survivable again in my area!

Blood Of A Hero

Thanks for the update as always Digi ❤️ Very interesting to see the difference between Blender and Daz! I hope you have a fantastic week! Stay safe out there and I hope development continues to go well 🙏❤️

BurntLimpet

Always love your explainers, of what you have to overcome/experiment/wrangle with to create such awesome content, just fascinates me, thanks for your updates!

👌...waiting hard for the next chapter !

My photographer's eye jumped on these images. Sometimes I just can't help it. Look at the point where the line of her nose crosses the line of her eyes. The Blender image makes her nose look a little broader, not like he sharp nasal bridge she has in DAZ. . The comparable DAZ image doesn't look like that. I know the two engines render images a little differently but this one jumped right out at me. (It may be unnoticeable to other pairs of eyes) It is likely an effect from the llghting but seems like something you could adjust in post via Photoshop.

Thanks for the DevLog👍😊 Have a great week too!

Is it just my imagination or does her face look much more alive in the Blender render despite the bluish hue around the eyes?

Always enjoy updates that get into the workings of the game. Thanks for a detailed update

Looks like she is coming right along nicely! Really lookin good in her skin!! ;<) While she looks so good there are clear differences between Blender and DAZ. DAZ appears to have more depth towards 3D imagery while Blender seems foggy or blurry? Not severely but enough to soften the character's features.

Yeah... Zooming both images I personally prefer the DAZ image generation results. One of those things that makes me wish I could do this kind of work. I just don't have the patience to do it but I do enjoy playing them!

Chancho

I just finished Chasing Sunsets. I hope Amanda makes a cameo in an upcoming chapter. I feel like her and Artemis could get into some interesting shenanigans together!
