And the last update of January 2026, the next chapter of Dragon Leveling, Chapter 53: Discovering the Differences, is here, folks!

Have a good time reading this one! I'm having a blast writing this arc, so I'm hoping you guys are enjoying it as well. We're going to have a whole lot more fun in the future chapters. This chapter we are having DL Issei discovering a certain personality trait of his canon self that truly set them apart, and boy oh boy, is he in for a treat (in the worse way possible).

At the start of the year I promised you guys that we would have a ton of updates, so I hope that you guys are satisfied with what I have delivered. Lunar New Year is coming, and I will have a looong vacation ahead of me to deliver a whole lot more! Stay tune to it!

Summary: The morning after the day he was killed by his girlfriend, Issei woke up and saw two things. First was Rias Gremory sleeping next to him in his bed, and second was a floating blue window congratulating him on becoming The Player and telling him to go work out as a daily quest.

Nice chapter, but now it got me thinking. Will the Sung-jin Issei train the canon Issei?

We will see. Although you have to admit that their approachs to training and fighting are completely different. It's not like DL Issei can just randomly teach Issei Phoenix Shift, or any of his abilities either, can't he?

This was quite the chapter. Not going to lie, I had to check the previous one to see if I didn't skip some kind of update by mistake because the way you just started this chapter in a way which was completely separate from the end of the last one really threw me for a loop. I think that may be the biggest issue with this chapter and it's a rather small one in my opinion. Getting to know the inhabitants of this world as well as getting a feel for the differences is still pretty enjoyable and two very big ones stood out such as the mother of Millicas as well as the lack of Oppai Dragon. It is very clear that Draig could not be happier by that change and his counterpart of this world certainly envies him a lot. And it seems like the Issei of this world is definitely in a similar boat after how he saw his doppelganger perform against Sairaog. Their performances were like night and day that's for sure. And of course Issei's declaration that he's too busy for porn has got to be one of the most memorable things I've ever read in a DxD fanfic.
