And the next update for Dragon Leveling, Chapter 55: Overwhelming Might, is finally here, folks!

Sorry for the long wait. I have been spending the past couple of weeks celebrating Lunar New Year with my family and enjoying the time offline. I hope everyone who celebrates the holiday has been having a great time with your family and loved ones as well.

And now that things have settled down, I am back to writing and ready to move the story forward. This chapter features the Issei and his Shadow Army's battle against the combined force of Nilrem and the Hero Faction of canon DxD world, so I hope that I have done it justice to show how much of a difference Issei's strength is right now compare to his canon-self at the current timeline.

Anyway, that will be all. This chapter, for me personally, is incredibly exciting, so I hope that everyone will have a great time reading it.

Dragon Leveling Ch.55

Summary: The morning after the day he was killed by his girlfriend, Issei woke up and saw two things. First was Rias Gremory sleeping next to him in his bed, and second was a floating blue window congratulating him on becoming The Player and telling him to go work out as a daily quest.

First things first, I'm just going to say that yes, I think that you did a great job at showcasing just how strong Issei is and the fact that most of the chapter was dedicated to showing that was not a bad idea on your part. I also have to agree with Issei not killing any of the leaders since there are more valuable alive and maybe they can actually get better in more ways than one after surviving this ordeal. I know that in Canon they do but being so utterly defeated I imagine would make them seriously consider their life choices from here on our. Not sure what Will happen with the Gram of this world but the way he took it was one hell of a boss move in my opinion. As was the 'or else' he gave to the hero faction before talking with Rias. There were some good smaller moments in this chapter such as how the characters of this world recognized some of the shadows of the people in Issei's army including some of the magicians they are fighting. The talk between the two Issei's was also a highlight since this world's Issei is most certainly going through some existential questions after seeing just how much stronger his counterpart is than him. At this point I feel it's like comparing a candle to a forest fire with how much power DL Issei has. The apology to Rias was also well handled since he was definitely caught up in the moment and she knows that and easily forgives him. Going on a date really is a good way to cap things off since they haven't had a chance to have someone on one time like that but unfortunately the ending of this chapter is going to get in the way of that. At least Elena giving Issei some mochi as thanks for saving her was pretty sweet, pun totally intended. That and it'll be interesting to see what happens next after a cliffhanger like that. I hope you enjoyed your time with the family and I certainly can't wait to see what comes next now that the celebration is over.

Amazing chapter, Yagami! Although, I’m a little sad that he didn’t get to keep Cao Cao and the other leaders of the Hero Faction as shadows.

The story remains just as good, but I'll reiterate my point about the lack of romantic interaction between the characters (except for Rias, Akeno, and Aphrodite) and the general lack of interaction with other characters, as the rest of the ORC feel more like NPCs. For example, this arc would have been better if you had introduced another girl instead of Rias to develop a different relationship.
