Leslie and I tried out Warframe yesterday! It's... an interesting experience. The movement of the game is really fun, like if Tribes 2 had a samurai sword to cut people down as you shmoove around. Though it uh, doesn't seem like a good multiplayer game, considering you'll be easily left in the dust by anyone else even slightly more competent than you. Leslie and I don't really play extraction shooters much, and this is definitely an intimidating one to get into with its 12 years of content (and microtransactions). Still, it's fun enough to endure a bit more and give it a good effort to at least learn a bit more. If you see a SonicMan06, that's me!

That's all for this week, though! Time for a little Christmas break! Thank you so much for your support, and see you next week! Happy holidays!

Merry Xmas, y'all! May all the presents be awesome, and take a well deserved break! I'm semi retired from gaming, but my one tradition is playing all the retro Final Fantasy games (1-10), one by one starting the day after Xmas until however long it takes me. No reason, I just like to do that because I'm weird like that. Also, bitter Seth is hilarious.

Huh. Well, Seth's not wrong. Maybe had he EXPLAINED it to Steg and Suria, there wouldnt have been that blowup....

As someone who has put a lot of time (and money) into Warframe, I can very much understand the left behind feeling you folks are experiencing. I'd recommend just running as a squad of two, or if you're feeling courageous, just let folks know in the squad chat that you're new. Players are pretty good about being accommodating when prompted. There's a _lot_ of systems though, so if you ever have questions, feel free to drop me a line. Oh, before I forget, the colloquial term is "Looter shooter". Extraction shooters are more along the lines of Tarkov or Arc Raiders or the new Marathon. Helldivers 2 gets thrown in there sometimes but I feel like it's the PvEvP aspect that makes the genre.

Warframe has many things to appreciate: it's combat, aesthetic and lore are genuinely fun and fascinating. The biggest problem with it is it's monetization. If you don't know how the in-game trading and economy works, you *will* get screwed over by forking over money for intentionally overpriced currency. Unless that sounds fun, you should probably stay away before you get hooked on gameplay.

It feels intimidating at times, I would consider picking it back up if you need someone to play with, but I'd be just as lost as you are.

One good thing about Warframe though is the community is nice, high level players usually go awee help the babies!

As a Warframe vet I will say it’s new player experience while improved still isn’t great my best advice is if your are ever feeling lost or frustrated is to join the official discord or a clan so that they can answer any questions you might have. Don’t give up hope it really is a good game once you get over the hurdle and understand the basics of modding, standing, and the overall progression loop.

Just think about the context of this scene. He's drinking in the locker room of a secret (literally) underground nightclub, it's filled with celebrities getting their freak on, and he's passing the bottle with not-Elvis who successfully faked his death. And he's just going on about his business troubles.

The only thing I can say about Warframe is this: Ironmouse is into it

Alan Sloan

I highly recommend Guild Wars 2 for a fun mmorpg. I think you both would enjoy that game. And I’m so excited to see Steg and Suria are gonna live out their dream.
