Welp, tickets pre-ordered for Mario Galaxy movie. I thought I was good on it. I'll show up for Sonic every single time, Sonic's my boy. Mario, though? I LIKE Mario. I love the Mario games. But it's not like you're gonna have an outer space tag-team fight set to Crush 40's Live and Learn in a Mario movie. The narrative stakes just aren't there in the way that Sonic ambitiously takes swings (and often misses). And the first Mario movie? It was okay. It looked nice. That's about it. So I figured I'd safely skip this one.

But then they showed Pikmin. And granted, that would be enough already. But then they showed Star Fox, and now it's a day one, tickets pre-ordered situation. Now I HAVE to know what they're doing. Is it going to be slop? Absolutely. Am I going to point at the screen and slap my hands together like a seal when I see Red Pikmin, hooting and hollering like a mad man? I'm PLANNING on it. Sometimes, that's all you need. Everything is improved by Pikmin.
