We finished Dirge of Cerberus the other night! It was... really bad from start to finish. But it was bad in a charming, "they REALLY don't make games like they used to" kind of way where everyone was still figuring things out and getting weird with it. Can't say it's my favorite part of FFVII or that I even like anything it adds TO FFVII. I don't think I can even really farm any good material for my Shinra Middle Manager account. BUT it's an interesting game at least. And now, we're on to Crisis Core... which is what I would say if I hadn't downloaded the PSP version, got so bored playing it, and are now on hour 2 of a 4 hour youtube upload of its cutscenes. Yeah, I don't think I'm missing much with the gameplay of this one. Somehow, I could get through Dirge of Cerberus, but I couldn't get through an hour of Crisis Core... Does that make the game worse? Debatable! We'll see by the end!

Crisis Core gets really good plotwise around the second half. The soundtrack for that game has no right to be as good as it is for such an atrociously controlled game (well to me at least, I feel like the controls just suck and kill the game outright). Fun fact, I had a boyfriend who absolutely loved Dirge Of Cerberus, but he basically loved the esthetic of it and even thought he was a tortured soul like Vincent. He was not. He was a suburban kid from a decent family. Then again his favorite game was Shadow the Hedgehog, to a point where I stopped him from getting the logo for that game tattooed. Because Shadow just gets him. The relationship didn't last very long, due to his "edgelord" tendencies. No regrets. I hope he's doing well in life.

Her curves are gorgeous. Dirge I've never played. I would like to for the plot with experience. But I know it being a shooter shows in a "they don't know how to make them" kinda way. Still think I'll play it eventually. I do need to replay Crisis Core. I never fully got the DMW mechanic. But it has a good plot. I wouldn't mind them giving other games we didn't get like Before Crisis a port and remaster.

Oohoo, now that’s a callback and a half. Definitely got tricked by the cover of that game, but was still a neat point in FF7 history (plus the bosses show up again in the remake)
