We watched AND finished Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 yesterday! We thought season 1 was good, but season 2 may be up there as one of our favorite things in anime, like, period. Just immaculate, confident vibes and an attitude and energy that felt right at home with some of our favorite late 90s anime. Seriously, it felt more Fooly Cooly than any of the recent things with the Fooly Cooly name. Definitely less frantic action and more focused on the relationships and drama between an extremely well written cast with pitch perfect performances. I don't want to give too much away, but we were just enamored from start to finish.

Hell, I'd consider it one of the best video game adaptations of all time, not just because it's a good story told in a game universe but by how it seamlessly weaves in mechanics and UI elements from the game without it ever feeling like jarring fanservice. Hell, the backgrounds being just straight up filtered screenshots, while being budget conscious for sure, grounded the events in a way that really impressed me as someone working their way through the actual game. I'm not terribly surprised that the reception is a bit more mixed considering how tonally different it feels from season 1 (which again, we did like), but I love the swings they took. Highly recommended.

That's it for today, though! Thank you so much for your support and see you on Friday!
