DF Direct Weekly #183 is still cooking (exporting now in fact), but we have another content 'drop' today. Tom's just completed his Silent Hill 2 review and here it is. This one goes public as soon as our accompanying Eurogamer review is complete, but all Supporters can watch and download now.

The blurb: developer Bloober Team's remake of Silent Hill 2 is a surprise success in its telling of a Konami's original story, backed by an authentic visual recreation in Unreal Engine 5 - with Lumen reflections and GI. Comparisons to the PS2 original are fascinating to observe, where the studio has the bravery to deviate from the script where need be. There are rough points here too though, notably in performance - and sadly neither PS5's performance or quality modes always hold a stable line at their target 60 or 30fps.

And the Pc tech review? 😭

Samson

and by the vibes im getting from his tweet... looks like we getting that #stutterstruggle PC bros. Honestly, this is getting ridiculous to the point that it has made me regret upgrading from my 2080 to the 4090. High end gaming means jack to me if consoles are getting consistent framerates. I just played an hour of Until Dawn remake at its abysmal even with shader pre compilation. UE5 is a joke of an engine
