Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 30, 2025) (Patreon)
Content
Hello there, slightly late, but here's your weekly update for what's happening here at Digital Foundry! The Monday morning #content meeting occured as usual and here's what the team is currently working on.
John is going to be spending some time on the next major DF Retro episode, which is tied into Tony Hawk's Pro-Skater 3+4. Expect this one to be a labour of love! Beyond that, we're planning what to do for the Xbox 360's 20th anniversary. Our aim is to get hold of an unopened launch console - retro unboxing, BLADES, and maybe an "every launch game" type affair. Thoughts?
Alex is working on a new video covering off a number of new RTX Remix projects that are happening right now. We're also thinking of putting him to work on a Switch 2 DLSS review in light of Hitman: World of Assassination seemingly offering us the chance to look at DLSS on/off.
Oliver is hard at work on our review for Cyberpunk 2077 on Apple Mac! If you weren't aware, we had a couple of meetings with Apple and he is now fully equipped for reviewing the game across a number of devices. He's also keen on reviewing the Apple Studio at some point. We're still waiting for a promised patch to Switch 2 No Man's Sky before Oliver takes a look at that one.
Tom is just polishing off his review of Switch 2 Editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Beyond that? Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Rich (ie me) has put together all the Cyberpunk 2077 benches from PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox Series S and Switch 2. Still debating full video or a smaller DF clips project. I have now received a Strix Halo mini-PC so I'm looking forward to testing that.
Will continues to adapt our work for Eurogamer, and he's also putting the heavy lifting into a sponsored #content opportunity we have with Bitdefender.
In the meantime, we're closing in on completion on the console VRR capture project. It's been a long road with a lot of dead-ends but the Cyberpunk 2077 VRR piece in the latest DF Direct used a close to final version of the capture/graphing project we've been working on with Illusion and we're basically there. Ironic that Switch 2 doesn't support it though! We've also been approached from a highly talented game developer with a potential solution for high-speed camera handheld frame-rate testing which we're looking into.
That's all for now. We're also starting to plan for Gamescom which should be fun! As usual, please give us your feedback on projects you'd like us to take a look at or just general comments really. Cheers!
