We've previously used CD Projekt RED's internal benchmarks to stack up Switch 2 against Steam Deck, but what about PlayStation 4, PS4 Pro and - of course - Xbox Series S. Comments from Virtuos satellite studio Black Shamrock suggest that Switch 2 features GPU power comparable with Series S and CPU power just a touch higher than PlayStation 4 - but to what extent does that tally with Cyberpunk 2077's outputs? It's just one game, running with different settings on each system, but nevertheless, the results are intriguing.

No Man’s Sky similar comparison next?

Think they're waiting on a patch due to some oddities.

Think be worth looking at borderlands 4 more than outlaws. B4 is UE5 so common engine and is almost a simultaneous release on switch 2 (month late) - I’m very interested in what that ends up being. We already know it’s 30FPS which I think switch 2 owners need to get used to for new big game releases (at best!).

Whilst I understand the comparison to consoles in light of some devs comments (though I think we all know what those devs meant rather than what they actually said) - I do feel comparing switch a low powered hybrid console - really a handheld - to consoles that draw 200W is only going to confuse the narrative that is already confused. The switch 2 is pretty good compared to the array of more expensive PC handhelds bar the handheld clock speeds and memory bandwidth that both I think would benefit from a boost. It’s never going to match the wall powered consoles but has the tech to mitigate some necessary compromises. It’s unique in that it is a console that plays native games remote and untethered - hard to compare that to wall plugged machines I think.
