Silent Hill f delivers an excellent overall experience with good utilisation of Unreal Engine 5 and a solid adherence to its target frame-rates, its tech credentials marred only by occasional traversal stutter - the examples noted here are about a couple of hours into the game. However, the PlayStation 5 Pro version of the game seems to be deploying PSSR with some distracting visual artefacts.

PSSR has really been a huge flop so far. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony drops it for the PS6 and they just use FSR 4.

Optimized Prime

Sony already said "a new version of the PSSR upscaler powered by the same algorithm powering AMD FSR 4, co-developed as part of the Amethyst joint project by AMD and Sony, will hit PlayStation 5 Pro next year, and not AMD FSR 4."

Samson

Yes. That’s what I meant. It’s just gonna be FSR4 under the PSSR name.

We can only hope that every game with PSSR gets patched with FSR4. The current situation is really frustrating.

yeah I think I will hold off this game until January 2026 or around somewhere there when PS5 Pro get PSSR 2.0 system update. Anyone else feels the same way? I still haven't completed SH2 remake and there has been no update by devs for almost a year since PS5 Pro launched if they fix visual quality.

StooMonster

Came here to say the same thing, let's hope it's easy to fix PSSR in titles that already have it once the new FSR4 version is live.
