Generation of games of my childhood that required 7800GTX that none of my friends could afford. Including me 😆

the fact that the start-up Nvidia joined the Patreon support program of the independent creator we all love digital foundry deserves a YESSSSSSSSS!

Ah yes I love financially supporting my favorite independent creator for ad-free content, free of corporate influence.

any business needs income, DF is an independent media outlet it is not a charity, but I take this with humor and irony. I know rich would say: anyway...

Ah, you mean that other indie news sources don’t have sponsored placements on their videos? Yes, I’d love to live in a world where this doesn’t have to happen to fund journalism, but that is not a world we live in. At least I learn stuff in this, which is more than I can say for a Raycons segment.

If you watch the original announcements around the time DF went independent, Rich was very open about likely doing sponsored content in the future. Anyway, like any online content you can just choose not to watch it if you don't want to?

This was such a fun period for PC gaming. I recall playing most of these games, tweaking the hell out of the settings to get a stable-ish frame rate. And then there was the joy of upgrading your video card a year or two later and playing the games again with most settings maxed out.

I had just purchased 2 6800 Ultras and used SLI back in 2005. A few weeks later the 7800 came out and I was bummed because I just spent all that money and the upgrade came out soon after. Great video bringing back some memories
