Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 45 2025) (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, Rich here with your slightly delayed weekly update on everything that is happening here at Digital Foundry - but by the end of the week, I'm sure you'll understand why as there's a lot going on. For the purposes of this post, however, I'll keep it simple and concentrate on the #content.
A lot of it will sound similar to last week but there are some surprises en route.
John has just about completed the next DF Retro episode, focusing on the original Unreal, with a guest appearance from the RTX Remix upgrade. Yes, what was originally a Remix video has expanded out into a full DF Retro episode. After that, he'll be moving onto the Xbox 360 20th anniversary plus that oft-promised unboxing video of an actual Xbox 360 untouched for two decades. Well, to be fair, I did power it up when I received it to make sure it worked before shipping it out - and it does.
Alex is going to be taking a good, long, hard look at Arc Raiders on PC - Unreal Engine 5 running well but without its cutting edge features!
Rich (ie me) has lots going on. I've just cued up DF Clips for the week, I've been running handheld benches like the above (look at the MSI Claw 8 AI+ with Lunar Lake fly!) and yes, the "collab" with Oliver on Xbox Ally X is happening.
Tom is working on Pokémon Legends: Z-A and after that moves onto embargoed content. A bit like last week then, except this time, hopefully a much anticipated patch won't get in the way of him completing his projects!
Oliver will be working with us on our PlayStation 5 Professional year one video, is also working on Ally X with me, then moves onto embargoed content!
I still have the GPD Win 5 I'm itching to take a look at, but I'll tell you something - the MSI Claw 8 AI+ is really interesting. Performance at lower wattages looks very impressive and it's up there with Z1 Extreme and even Z2 Extreme in some cases. Also: hardware XeSS. If Panther Lake is like this but with the promised big increase to horsepower, I'm fascinating to see what a next-gen Claw could look like.
Going back to the #content though, it's a bit of a transitory week then, but as I said, we do have some surprises coming that we think you'll enjoy - including the realisation of one of our big independence projects.
In the meantime, feel free to comment about anything here and to suggest new topics for us to look into! Have a lovely week!
