Annual Memberships Are Now Available! (Patreon)

Hi everyone, just a quick post to announce to everyone that one of the biggest requested Patreon features has now been enabled on the Digital Foundry Supporter Program. If you'd prefer to support the team with an annual payment as opposed to stumping up every month, you can now do so with a 15 percent discount. I'm reliably informed by our Supporters that if you're already a member and you're looking to move to an annual membership, you'll need to use the "edit payment method" option, not "change membership."

So, let's just quickly recap what paid membership offers as you consider this tempting offer:

DF Supporter Tier: This gives access to a weekly update written in the wake of our team meeting where we discuss our tasks for the week, along with early access to DF Direct Weekly, the chance to pose your questions for inclusion in the show, Discord access and - of course - high quality video downloads of everything we do. More? How about a completely ad-free experience on our new website, digitalfoundry.net!

Premium Tier: All the benefits of the Supporter Tier, along with an extra Discord channel plus early access video opportunities.

Retro Tier: Of course, Supporter and Premium benefits are all yours, plus you'll get typically very early access to DF Retro episodes (there's an Unreal one to watch right now) along with early access to the DF Retro Super Show. And of course, there's an even more exclusive Discord channel in addition to all of the others.

We push hard with the DF Supporter Program because, fundamentally, YouTube alone won't pay the bills. Support is crucial to our existence and opens the door to nice new things like the new digitalfoundry.net website and the DF Retro Super Show. And we have even more ambitious plans going into 2026. Annoyingly the Patreon app won't let me move to annual on my current tier. I have to downgrade then move back up to the annual version of my current tier. 🤦‍♂️

You need to think of a creative greeting and have a "cool" palindrome name like "Taco Cat" do 16 Hail Mary's and then send $500,000 to Bespoke Exclamation Point Co. Only once that is done will your question be considered for chosen. Lol. Or you just need to think of something that relates to the topics of the direct, that opens a thought provoking discussion

I figured it out, just select edit payment and you can switch to annual

For anyone wishing to stay on their current tier but switch it to annual, you must select "edit payment method" not "change membership"

Rich maybe you can add this to the description or if you can do a pinned comment, based on the comments it seems like most people are trying to upgrade to annual from "change membership" which will only work if you are also changing your tier

I couldn’t change at same tier in the Patreon app - I could see no “edit payment method” option. The website worked - it had an option to change to annual.

You can upgrade to the annual plan if you have an existing Digital Foundry membership. You go to "Settings", then "Memberships." Click "View Details", then click "Edit" on Payment amount. That will let you switch from monthly to annual. For those upgrading/downgrading, you pick tiers, then there is an option to switch from monthly to annual when you confirm the membership changes.

You can upgrade to the annual plan if you have an existing Digital Foundry membership. You go to Settings, then Memberships. Click View, then click Edit on Payment amount. That will let you switch from monthly to annual. For those upgrading/downgrading, you go to "change membership" instead then pick whichever tiers you want to change to, then there is an option to switch from monthly to annual when you confirm the membership changes. I have no idea how to do this in the Patreon app, so I did it through the Patreon website instead. It would be nice if there were an easier way to do this—so many unnecessary steps to change from monthly to annual.

If you touch the words Digital Foundry at the top of this post, it will take you to the main DF page on Patreon, with tabs for home, posts, podcasts. From there you want to click the 3 dots in the upper right, and select "your membership". Then scroll to the bottom and click "edit membership" then select "change payment method". It will take you to a screen with your billing info and there you will be able to select either monthly or annual

Thanks, but had tried that. When I click “edit membership” in the Patreon app, the only options were “change membership” or “cancel membership”. No payment options appear.
