Here's a 14-odd minute video that basically says "Hardware Unboxed got it right". In this follow-up coverage, we take a look at the undoubted quality improvements of FSR Redstone ML frame generation over the legacy FSR 3.1 "analytical" version, before looking at the reason we don't recommend using it: the delivery of frames is so uneven, it can actually look less smooth than running with frame-gen off.

This is kinda sad honestly! I hope they can fix the frame times!

I have never downloaded any of these videos, I am curious how everyone prefers to watch them. Download to USB and plug in to tv?

Pomps

Beautiful username

Michael Bach

I have YT Premium, is that the same quality as the downloads?

what can I say exclamation point

No it definitely won't be, YouTube has compression and I would imagine these download links are not compressed at all.

Michael Bach

Thank you! Will try out the downloads!

MattGPT

I download the video and then watch them on my TV, mostly because the YouTube stream is unfortunately full of adverts and the amount of ads on YouTube seems to be getting progressively worse. I occasionally watch them on my PC as well, but still download them because of the YouTube ads.

Michael Bach

I gave in a long time ago and got Premium. Unberrable!

MattGPT

They are still compressed, both HVEC and h.264 are compression types, but they are much better than YouTube and they also do not suffer from YouTube's variable bitrate where it randomly decides to change the resolution and bit rate of the video for no reason.

A4Gaming

I play them on various hardware through Emby. It's fun to see which devices choke when you give them a video with a proper bitrate.

OpenMind

I have my PC hooked up to a monitor at my desk and a TV with concomitant couch, mainly because of RTX HDR which tends to make SDR content look subjectively better on my LG OLED.

Mr Bespoke

I normally use the USB stick/TV method for when they upload videos in HDR since Windows still cant do HDR properly.

Drewizard

This probably seems like overkill, but I download them via Patreon on a Firefox browser running as a docker container on my unraid server to a folder in said server's media share, which automatically adds them into a Plex server DF library that I can then watch on any number of devices... Or ya know, occasionally Youtube like a normal person...
