Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 36 2026) (Patreon)
Content
Ah, hello there - welcome to the weekly update on everything that is happening here at Digital Foundry! Apologies for the lack of an update post last week. Things have been exceptionally busy here, plus I've not been feeling well. Things should be a little easier this week hopefully!
First of all, I'd like to make an announcement. I'm super-happy to report that Rayan is joining us full time to supplement our efforts on PC coverage. He's worked in a freelance capacity for quite some time now and thinking about, starting on freelance, becoming indispensible then transitioning into a full-time role is basically how the entire team was formed.
While filling a hole that Alex's absence has left, we're quite happy with the way that PC performance reviews are going and once Alex returns, we aim to push on with a much wider array of PC #content. And we're not done yet on the hiring front. Increased commercial activity on the channel (eg the Alienware sponsorship) is directly leading to expansion of the team.
Let's crack on with the staff breakdown. I'm going to leave myself out this week as I'm looking to take a bit of a breather.
Oliver will be tackling our Marvel's Wolverine review. It looks like the embargo date is public - September 10th 8am PT/4pm BST. His long-awaited Switch 2 vs iPhone 17 Pro video should quote-unquote drop tomorrow! We don't have the game(s) yet but Oliver's also lined up to cover Control Resonant and Gears of War: E-Day.
John is heading off on vacation soon, but has a couple of projects in the offing - one of which we've been working on for about six weeks now on and off. Unfortunately, it's under embargoed but I'm looking forward to seeing it! He's also working on some Wolverine-related #content that should be fun.
Tom is working on our review #content for The Blood of Dawnwalker. He's also keen to report on the state of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4's beta with a focus on the Switch 2 version and he's also interested in checking out Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave on Switch 2.
Rayan is polishing off our Resonance: A Plague Tale Resonance PC review, will be looking at The Blood of Dawnwalker on PC, and has a busy time ahead with the arrival of Control Resonant, 007 First Light path tracing... and the rest!
Will has returned from vacation, so expect normal flow of #content on digitalfoundry.net
I talked about it in the last update but Marc 'Try4ce' Duddleson's Switch 2 Final Fantasy 14 review is complete, it's awesome and I'm looking forward to running it this week.
It's a super-busy time so yeah, we're also "aware" of Star Wars Galactic Racer, Silent Hill Townfall etc. Star Wars Zero Company? We didn't receive review code and it's another example of a game where we really wish Alex was available. We're also rather curious to see how 30fps to 60fps frame-gen works out on Stellar Blade on Switch 2, but that's all for now. As usual, feel free to ask questions, suggest topics etc. Thanks!
