Happy Easter, everyone! Hope everyone had a nice long weekend and got to enjoy some nice spring weather. We made sure to make the most of our day off yesterday, but we still made the time to bring you a new episode of DF Direct Weekly so make sure you check that out on the channel if you haven't already. This week, we have this in store:

  • John's starting work in a detailed breakdown of Oddworld Soulstorm - please be patient on this one, code only arrived late on Monday
  • We have had early access to the Series X|S patch for Crysis Remastered, and we'll roll that out as soon as we can.
  • After multiple PIVOTS, Tom is once again back on SSD loading time tests for PlayStation 5
  • Alex is in the process of upgrading his Ryzen 9 3900X to a brand new 5950X and will be telling us all about that
  • But he's also going to be looking at the PlayStation 5 version of Crysis Remastered as and when that becomes available
  • Rich is moving forward on the next DF Developers piece, covering an extremely promising PC and next-gen console title
  • John & Audi are hard at work on various new DF Retro related videos including new full length episodes. They won't show up this week, but that doesn't mean we can't tease it.
  • Part 2 of the team-up with My Life in Gaming showcasing PS3 will stream on their channel this Friday with our retro duo in attendance. If you missed the first part, check it out on our channel.

Im really looking forward to that Series patch for Crysis. Even in Performance mode input lag is awful. I dont think it only has to do with framerate, Far Cry 5 ran at 30 even on One X if i remember correctly and i mistook it for 60fps because input was soo good. I know FC5 runs on Dunia but still.

Tom didn't cover load times for the Bethesda games when he covered their new FPS Boost. Given how much time I spend looking at Skyrim load screens on my X360, I'm deeply curious how Bethesda games load on the current gen systems.

I played both Skyrim and Fallout 4 on Series X and its really fast. 5 sec maybe less.

Any chance you guys will take a look at the Republic Commando release on PS4/Switch? It's a great mid-2000s Star Wars game, getting a rerelease. Would love to see it get some, well, love!
