Coming this week on Digital Foundry (Week 18, 2021) (Patreon)

Hi everyone, so it was a long weekend in the UK and the working week begins proper on a Tuesday, hence the day delay on our weekly update post. But first of all, another thanks to our supporters old and new. We were delighted and humbled by a new surge of supporters joining us in the wake of yesterday's DF Direct. There's a bunch of stuff we've got to share this week across the tiers and we hope you love it.
So, let's share with you the main topics of the weekly staff meeting.
* Over the weekend, Rich took a look at the Resident Evil Village demo for Xbox Series consoles and put together a video coming up later today.
* Rich also filmed some behind the scenes content on this video, showing you how the edit is structured and how the frame-rate comparison videos are put together. He talks about how fps analysis used to be done, how it's done now and workflow ideas we're working on in future. This came about following a Discord chat with supporters!
* Sooooo, we put out a Genshin Impact video and the developer 'dropped' a patch with apparently vastly improved performance. Tom checked out this 1.51 patch and yes, it's hugely improved. We'll produce an update video on this.
* Perhaps not quite a #BigGlobalExclusive on the scale of Metro Exodus, but Alex is sharing an RT-focused video tomorrow that sees a classic console game revamped with FULL ray tracing. You will not want to miss this!
* John is working on the big showcase video for Resident Evil Village, covering off features and console comparisons based on final code. Expect that on Thursday. Meanwhile, Alex is looking at the PC version.
* Rich and Tom will be taking a closer look at some of the new FPS Boost titles for Xbox Series consoles but if do you have a Series X, we strongly recommend checking out Shadow of the Tomb Raider right now...
Patreon exclusive content? For Premium tier supporters, Rich's Resident Evil BTS video will be coming soon along with Classic FPS Remastered content in the form of 2010's Battlefield Bad Company 2. DF Retro supporters get all of that along with early access to an EXCELLENT Modern Vintage Gamer (MVG) interview with John and Audi that drops today, plus a new DF Retro Play episode later in the week.
As for the picture at the top of this post? Well, #DogitalFoundry managed to gate-crash last week's DF Direct Weekly in spectacular style after voicing his displeasure at the arrival of the window cleaner, so why not introduce the cheeky little chap himself?
