This was the movie with the second most votes in the Scaretober poll! Thanks for voting for it.

I know there are five more movies. At this time, I am not going to commit to continuing the series either at all, or if I do want to watch them all there won't be any sort of urgency with it. There are a ton of stand-alone horror movies that are a higher priority for me. If I don't commit to the whole series, I would at least like to watch the next one at some point because I am 99% sure that's the one that has the scene that I've seen before. 🪵

Please enjoy the reaction! Looking forward to your comments. [Direct link here.]

Final Destination (2000) ✦ Full-Length Watchalong Reaction

In my opinion, Final Destination is like 4th of July fireworks. There's a lot of oohs and ahs while the show's going, and there might be a new colorful rocket thrown in each year, but if you've seen one you've seen them all.

The second one is often considered the best of the series. If you were to skip one, I think the vast majority of fans would all agree that the fourth one, called The Final Destination (2009), is the one to skip. The other five were all generally pretty well-received, although like Nathan says, this is one of those franchises where the appeal of a new movie is to see what new variations on the theme they've come up with rather than some sort of story they're all telling together.

If you find a compilation of all the deaths for all the films after FD2, you'll save a ton of time. 😅 And yes, 2 does have *🪵that🪵* scene.

If this is your introduction to Tony Todd (the mortician), I definitely recommend seeing him in THE CROW (1994) and as his most iconic character, CANDYMAN (1992).

I said this on another channel (...I think?) but the reality of the long-running horror franchises is that the best route is to just trim each series down. The only problem is, how do you get a consensus on which movies to drop or watch off the channel? I think generally you will find a clear consensus -- but people will probably still make impassioned cases for the others. The trickiest entries in each franchise are the "odd man out" entries, which is fairly common. Obviously, I don't want to get specific, but there is almost always an entry where the filmmakers tried something different, and the results were divisive. In my opinion, those should be preserved precisely because they are an ideal type of divisive for a reactor: unpredictable. Anyone skipping the more widely-disliked ones ought to commit to the love-it-or-hate-it ones. But most people just want the good stuff. A non-horror example of this would be Terminator 3. I think almost anyone would objectively admit that it's pretty well-liked, and that regardless of anyone's personal opinion, the movie has its memorable moments, but I rarely see anyone pushing for it to get a reaction (although admittedly, this is also obviously in part due to the greatness of T2 and a desire to end the story where James Cameron originally ended it). Still, even though there's a limit to what a reaction channel can encompass on a practical level, I'm always thinking about how taking some bad with the good is an essential part of figuring out your taste, and while you will of course see many movies you dislike in your life and off the channel, there's a part of me that thinks the wild ups and downs of a less-consistent franchise across 6, 8, 10 movies is something that reactors often don't get.

The latest one, Bloodlines, that released this year is just 👌, trust me. It pays homage to the franchise and it's my favorite, even better than the 2nd in my opinion. If you do continue your journey through this series, make sure you don't miss out on it.

I like these movies just because Death in this universe is so petty lol. I would like to share a near death experience when I was maybe 5 or 6. My aunts house caught fire while I was asleep on the rug on the floor. She had also fallen asleep while she was cooking something on the stove and it caught fire.

Honestly didn't know how popular this franchise was until I started watching reaction channels. It's kind of a juggernaut apparently.

Chris Thom

The opening to 3 was so well done. That felt like a very real nightmare.

Chris Thom

Franchises like this inevitably jump the shark at some point. But looking at the grand scheme of it, I can totally see why they do that. Can be dumb, but also kind of necessary.

Chris Thom

I feel the same. Maybe the most repetitive series out there.

If you didn’t like this one — And why would you? — just look the logging-truck scene up on YouTube and call it a day. Awful, boring franchise. Just one man’s opinion.

Haha these movies definitely don't seem like they're for everyone! Now that I know what the formula is, I'll admit I'm intrigued to continue just to see all the different ways they have deaths occur.

If you put this up on YouTube you'll probably get the producer Craig Perry in your comments section (@craigperry5389). He's produced all the Final Destination movies and he's known for enjoying watching reactions to it, and commenting on them. He also did a couple of interviews with CineBinge when they were doing the franchise. Interesting and lovely guy, for being one of the minds behind such a morbid series. 😂 I actually like this series. It's more of a rollercoaster ride than a movie. You don't watch it for the plot, that's for sure. 🤣 The first is definitely one of the weakest ones in the franchise. I really like the second one. I haven't seen the latest one yet, but I've heard it's good!

Having watched the reaction after making these comments, I will also say I think with your better understanding of what the series is based on this movie and also the fact that the second movie really hones in on what makes these movies popular will make for a great experience, whenever you choose to have it. It was interesting to see through your reaction what it's like for someone who has no idea what to expect; I think even I sort of knew what the hook was when I watched the first one for the first time however many years ago.

Chris Thom

The main actor for the Terrifier series seems really nice and normal too. the contrast is pretty wild. lol

Chris Elkins

The logging truck still haunts me to this day when I come up on one on the Interstate :(

Morgan Bridgland

Compared to other horror movie franchises, FD is certainly one of the silliest, but they're still a lot of fun to watch.
