A thought about Coulson and Daisy facing the marauders: when they attacked the lighthouse, they used EMP tech so Coulson had to revert to a tech-less hand (and Daisy wasn’t there); they weren’t using that tech on the Zephyr, making them more vulnerable, and Coulson was better equipped with a tech hand. 😉 I also appreciate Deke’s humor, and his clever mention of “zero.” #MathGeek 🤓

Maybe they have kevlar-like skin/clothing - kevlar is pretty good at stopping bullets, but lousy at stopping blades and blunt force trauma impacts. Not that it really matters - this is hardly the first time the team has been able to take on superior opponents with less effort than should be needed (even this season - most of them shouldn't be able to take on the Kree hand-to-hand)

The episode where Tablot goes full villain mode 🙁, and May and Coulson *finally* kiss! 🥰. Talbot's arc is truly tragic - going from a coma, to brain damage then being mentally broken and brain washed, to finally being exposed to a highly volatile substance that removes what little stability and control he had left. This isn't something I've thought about prior to this rewatch, but it's really rather unclear how in control he truly is at this point - we know he still hears the voices from Hall, Quinn etc., but whilst he believes he's in control it's unlikely he was really cognicent enough to be able to take control. Perhaps the villainous influences are more due to Hall wanting revenge, or Quinn's questionable motives, or that guy from the Confederacy he absorbed? Not that it matters at this point - him threatening to absorb his wife and terriying his son as not only pretty scary in themselves, but both are a pretty clear inclication that he's beyond saving, regardless of what might be causing his behaviour. Brave of George to call him out on it though. Sad to see Creel get absorbed - he didn't deserve that. Another character who had the majority of their life destroyed by Hydra. 'Father' Kassius' method of 'breaking' his captives definitely seems like it would be effective. It's definitely cool to see Daisy be mentally strong enough to use her powers whilst uncousious to break the link though - and accepting the Destroyer of Worlds moniker is pretty badass. Coulson & May! Not sure much else needs to be said there 😉

Just getting into the part in your 5x22 review where you theorise exactly what I wrote above about Talbot 😆. I'd like to think that that is the case, perhaps with the remnants of Hale's brainwashing also having a influence - prior to this season, Talbot always did have an ego, but he was a good man at his core

I don't think that Jemma had started synthesizing the Centipede serum WITH Jaiyeng's DNA yet. She put it in the centrifuge, but it was right after they had just run samples to see if it would theoretically work. I assumed it probably needs processing before it's ready to combine it. Point being, at this time, they hadn't decided yet because they didn't know which option they were going to choose and this was when they first had a chance to run their theories by the whole team.

The Remorath seemed to be immune to gunfire, but not hand-to-hand or blades. Mack fought the one with odium in the Lighthouse with his shotgun axe. They showed the shotgun wasn't doing anything to it, but hand-to-hand worked. So, not really a plot armor inconsistency. I feel this show is pretty good with explaining things (if not verbally, visually) to keep away from the obvious plot armor tropes.
