What a rough episode. So many uncomfortable moments! Where oh where do we go from here?

Finally caught up on your reactions. Even though Jessica had every reason to attack that officer because of what he did and who he is I don't believe it can be ruled as self defense. Since she was a home invader a lawyer would probably side with him. You can't rule it as self defense when you invade someone's home because once you are on their property the law changes. I think it is called Castle Doctrine. He attacked her with pepper spray and hit her with a stick which most likely would not have killed Jessica. I like how last season Trish was one of the few good things in Jessica's life but this season we can see that she is not perfect either and has serious character flaws and a complex. She always needs to feel special and she latches onto Malcolm because he treats her like she is special. Jerry tried to be the good person this season surprisingly and sadly as a person who has been that person I understand that this happens more often then not. Being Good is more likely to cause you to be taken advantage of and that sucks and people like Malcolm and Jessica have a limit on how much they can take.
