Gunn's suggestion of Helen for Jasmines name may be a nod to one of Gina Torres' previous starring role as Helen "Hel" Carter in the series Cleopatra 2525. The title of this episode may refer to the R.E.M. song "Shiny Happy People," which lyrics are a satirical translation of Chinese propaganda. Governments use propaganda to control their citizens like Jasmine is using her magic and false message of love to control the masses.

I haven't watched your reaction yet, but I just have to say Gina Torres may be the most beautiful woman on this planet. (and that's really saying something!)

The spell/enchantment doesn't take effect until one lays one's eyes on Jasmine, apparently. Look how quickly the group changed once she appeared to them.

Jasmine taking credit for making all this happen in order to be reborn means that she would have had to be responsible for Holtz's actions as well. Hear me out. She would need to have Holtz kidnap Connor and escape into Quortoth, where Connor would age quickly enough to impregnate Cordelia once he returned. It was a quick decision on Holtz's part leap into Quortoth, so how could Jasmine have known he would do that.

Ron Fehr

Judging from Fred's conversation with the guy at the hospital, I don't think that Fred has realized the cause of Jasmine's true revelation.

Ron Fehr

Actually, I think what Skip said was that either Cordy would die or go into a coma. Right now, it looks like the latter.
