You apologize for just staring at the screen a lot of the time but one thing that makes your reactions great are their raw emotion. You aren’t reading too much into the mental health/suicide thing. My son committed suicide over ten years ago and I am always hyperaware of the subject. One of the few things that I think is sometimes poorly done in BtVS and Angel is suicide. Of the five, or six, times it is mentioned directly or metaphorically referred to, they only get a couple of them right. This was one of them. The question about why Angel comes back continues through until the very end of Angel, the series. I think you have a bigger crush on Jenny than on Cordy.

Steve Quast

I'm pretty sure that's what they were going for. "Domi hasn't suffered enough yet! We must show her more Jenny!" "Jenny is like 'More cowbell,' There can never be enough!"

Steve Quast

The real question is: how can the writers make "Amends" with you after doing this to you? 😋

Steve Quast

Gotta say you did pretty well on predictions this episode.

Steve Quast

Yep. Willow's Jewish. This was hinted at in "Passion" when she said her dad would be upset with her for nailing crucifixes to her wall. I don't remember if it's come up otherwise. I sometimes forget that Willow and Oz also make amends in this episode. I'm glad they went that route rather than having Willow and Xander get together, which would have been entirely inappropriate at this point.

Domi E

LOL seems to sum it up pretty well!

Domi E

They can’t, I’m suing them!!!

Domi E

Well that’s a first 😂Thank you!!

Domi E

Ahhh this makes me so happy!! Another thing Willow and I can bond about!!! And urgh right? So much better!!!

Tim Pierce

I don't think you delved into this, you do understand the significance of the snowfall, right? How it kept the sun from coming out and therefore wouldn't let Angel die?

Domi E

Yep, I did (Took me a sec but I mostly got it when they talked about it on the TV, LOL) feels like the universes way of telling Angel not to die and it’s kind of sweet.

Tim Pierce

The timing was of it was perfect. Like the whole universe stopped just to listen a conversation on a hill overlooking Sunnydale. It's one of my favorite moments of the entire series.

Steve Quast

Did you notice all the hints of how HOT it was all episode? It was so so HOT. It's Sweatydale. Faith, won't you come in from the complete lack of cold? Then at the end: viola! Snow!

Steve Quast

"This is also about the amends between......Cordelia and Oz." You really just want to get Cordy back in this episode, don't you?

zerofk

There are some parts of this episode I like, but overall it's too sappy, christmassy, and Bangely for my taste. And I absolutely hate the deus ex machina of the snow. Did you notice the man talking about finding his family before Angelus killed him was wearing a modern suit? Angelus was first cursed in 1898 so Angelus must've killed that family just last season.

R J Walker (FumblesMcStupid)

Well, that was everything :D Jenny appears, domi speaks dolphin. Fortunately I can translate. 'Meeeep aaa' roughly translates to 'She's wearing the same dress that she died in' :((( I think Cordy has to be out of town because she DOES NOT want to make amends with Xander so she can't be around all that amends magic snow and stuff :) Oz and Willow were the cutest OMG! His face when they hug :D That final scene on the hill I really like, DB's delivery of 'Am I a righteous man' is one of his best. I don't like the snow though, too cheesy for me and if clouds worked like that then vampires would rule Manchester, it NEVER stops raining there ;) My favourite scene, unsurprisingly, is Giles and Angel. It even takes place at the 'scene of the crime' (at least from Giles' POV). I love the light and yet incredibly threatening way Giles says 'come in' and Angel looks like he might be having second thoughts. I know the meta reason for Giles putting down the cross bow is to move and reveal Jenny but my head canon in universe reason is that Giles is worried he might actually pull the trigger. I mean, job done, get the vacuum cleaner, no more problem. OK, he's not going to do it because he couldn't do that to Buffy but I'm certain if crossed his mind. And again, like in Revelations, he really doesn't seem to be able to separate Angel from Angelus in that scene. I think he's maybe taken a tiny step towards doing that by the end but I think that a lot of his reason for helping are to help Buffy. He looks pretty jumpy about the concept until Buffy says she won't be able to get over Angel if they're making guest appearances in each other's dreams. Faith kills me in this one, lying about having plans and then repeatedly saying her gifts are 'crappy' :'( Your reaction to Jenny though, man that was something. And you even went on a pre-emptive Jenny rant before the episode even began (which presumably brought her forth). And your efforts to turn evil Jenny in to real Jenny by the force of your love for her alone were truly impressive. I'm just sad it didn't work :'(

Scott Kenney

Cordelia is skiing in Aspen.

Antonio

I know it would be somewhat out of context without having watched this reaction, but I feel the need to get a T-shirt saying "SHUT UP FAKE JENNY!" on it now.

Antonio

Ah, the mystery that was Buffy's bangs. I dunno, I kinda liked them.

Richard Ashton

I’ll have you know that I’m from Manchester and it was sunny, once.

UTU49

Hi Domi. I love watching Buffy with you. That is all. No, I’m just kidding (about the “That is all” part). The main plot of this one is about Angel seeing manifestations of people that he killed, but I love how much real-life substance they jammed into this one. Angel’s despair about whether he is a good person and whether or not life is worth living: well, that’s a universal struggle, even if you don’t have vampires and demons in your town. Willow re-earning Oz’s trust: again, this is a universal human experience. How many relationships in this episode go through some amount of healing? Angel/Buffy Angel/Giles Buffy/Faith Oz/Willow That’s a lot of substance – for ANY show – let alone a fantasy show. Buffy is one of those shows where my love for the characters makes it hard to watch.

UTU49

I think some people think of this as "The Bangs episode".

UTU49

On the other hand... maybe the snow fall saving Angel is just a random coincidental event. If, however, it FEELS to him like a sign from the universe, that just illustrates that his belief in himself is not completely dead. You know... if he was open to that interpretation of the snow fall.

UTU49

Violins are much better than violas. I'm so sorry. My jokes r dum.

Domi E

That is so true! I love this! It truly felt so meaningful!!

Domi E

Ah that’s so great they really set it up so well!!!

Domi E

LOL, is it too obvious?

Steve Quast

No it's just the right amount of obvious.

Domi E

OH damn interesting, totally hadn't noticed that!!!

Domi E

LOL. I refused to comment on them because if I did it was not going to be nice comments hahaha.

Domi E

Oh my, great points as always!! And thanks for translating that does sum exactly it ;)

Domi E

Damn great point, it really is such a deep show with always so much going on! And that really made me smile so thank you, glad you're enjoying :)

Jordan Haddow

Great reaction. I felt so bad for you in the beginning, knowing that Jenny was going to just pop out like that. I went I went back and watched it, and it took you a few seconds after seeing her to believe it was her, it's just so sudden. And with Giles right there. So many good things to react to in this episode. [Angel series spoilers ahead, don' tread if you haven't watched] I know you've watched some of Angel before this, so I thought I would mention one of the things I've been thinking about since watching it. Over there, they get quite heavy into prophecies surrounding Angel and the Powers that Be. How they will sometimes play a part in things. At first, it made me think of Whistler in the end of season 2 and how he guided Angel to Buffy and to working on the side of good. Also how they knew that Angel was going to deal with Kafla (maybe spelled correctly), but they didn't realize his interactions with Buffy would have made him Angelus who ended up trying to bring forth Kafla. In this episode, I've kind of come to the conclusion that the First and the Powers that Be we having a little battle over Angel. The First and its priests sent all those visions to Angel to drive him over the edge hoping he would come back as Angelus. Once Angel defeated them by refusing to the point of killing himself, the Powers that Be felt assured enough that he was going to stay on the good side of things and blocked out the sun with a snow storm so Angel couldn't kill himself. I mean, a snow storm during hot balmy weather that literally stops sunlight for an entire day. Seems a little more than coincidence. At least, that's kind of how I've come to look at it. I could just be reading too much into things.

KT

I cracked the hell up when you said last episode that you were hoping Jenny had shown up but assumed they weren't able to get the actress back. I was like "oh yeah when do they get her back ag- OH RIGHT LITERALLY THE NEXT EPISODE."

Vicky N

I like your interpretation

Ron Fehr

I'm so sorry that you had to go through all that emotional torture of seeing Jenny again. At least you had your wits about you, and you understood that it wasn't the real Jenny.

Domi E

Oh damn that’s really interesting!!! I love it!!

Domi E

Hahaha. I MANIFESTED IT!!!

Domi E

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Ron Fehr

My theory on why Buffy was able to see 'evil' Jenny near the end of the episode; the First Evil has control over who can see it. (Although up until that point, it was only Angel)

Ron Fehr

It's kind of tempting to rewatch this video just to see how many times that you mention Jenny's name. Lol
