I really didn't like this one on first watch, like it a lot more after going to uni (we share flats but not rooms), some little things people did really annoyed me, in Buffy's shoes I would probably have done the same thing

Frankly, I'm on Kathy's side - people show steal other people food from communal fridges are the worst. "Look, it's only a sausage..." "It's my sausage.", "Hey I didn't think it mattered that much, it's only a sausage." "IT'S MY F*&!ING SAUSAGE."

Hii. It was recorded after, I post all the videos in the order I record but dammit, I’m sorry. I’ll try and go back in and fix it. In some vids OBS has fucked up the audio and I have to synch it manually, but I don’t think I’m great at that, this was probably one of them.

For what it's worth it's a a constant 200ms early. A quick run through mkvtoolnix or similar will fix it up. You can also easily fix it on the fly in various players ... VLC, MPC-HC, mpv, etc.

It's not too awful - but I find i have to listen rather than watch the reaction as the disjoint is too distracting. It's not the end of the world, but I wasn't sure if you were aware.

Remember when Kathy went into Buffy's closet and took her sweater? Didn't it seem a bit cavalier how she acted upon seeing Buffy's weapons. Yes, at first she was bit curious, but then she just kind of shrugged it off and put them back. At least now you know why Kathy was not more surprised. She was a demon an strange things were normal for her.

LOL You know, my thoughts on this might be kinda weird, but I like to think Cathy at least had the potential to be a good demon. I think her family was influencing her, and without them, if she'd been allowed to live among humans, go to school, ect, she would have grown up good, or perhaps became good over time with the right influences.

I had a roommate in my first year of university and my experience was almost exactly the same as Buffy's... except that he wasn't a demon, and he didn't suck my soul away, and we got along pretty well. But the initial awkwardness was the same. The layout of the room was the same. The general situation of sharing space with a stranger was the same. My side was the left side (Kathy's) and my roommate was on Buffy's side. Sleeping in a room with a stranger on the first night was very weird. By the end of the first week, we were sharing stuff and laughing our heads off and having weird conversations late at night. I hope I was as good a roommate as he was... but I don't think I was quite as good a roommate. lol.

I think my favourite line might be (paraphrasing) Willow to Giles: 'Buffy is homicidal...so I sent her to you' :D Also the bit where Xander and Oz get taken out by Buffy, oh dear lol I really love the humour in this one. Buffy becoming more unhinged by the minute and then WILLOW EATS HER SANDWICH!!! I've never had a room mate either and I don't think I'd do very well sharing a bedroom with somebody :/ It was bad enough sharing a house!!!!!

Communication is everything. Some people are happy to share everything. Other people don't want to share everything. People need to negotiate with each other to hone the relationship to work for both parties. Whoah, whoah, whoah! By "SAUSAGE", did you guys mean "PENIS"?

If anyone feels guilty about labeling your food, just flip the script. Portray it as a public service... like you're labeling your food for THEIR benefit. "To everybody. Just a heads up: I drooled on this chicken a little bit, so you probably don't want to eat it." OR... "Warning to all. This chicken is for my salmonella experiment in my biology course." Or... "Just a heads up. I accidentally farted on this chicken." You get the idea...

Great reaction. Your expression when Buffy tore of Kathy's face was priceless. This is definitely one of my very favorite of Buffy's "funny" episodes.

UTU49 These days, with Covid-19, it would be even more helpful. While some may have had their vaccinations, there are those who haven't. So labeling could be considered a preventative measure.

Great reaction as usual. This is such a fun episode. The shock of just how nonchalant Buffy was about killing another human. Of course, we know later, like in Ted, Buffy has an inborn instinct for sensing demons, so despite her eyes and ears telling her Cathy was human, she instinctively knew she wasn't. Of course, the soul sucking thing messed with everything as well, but damn was it funny. Don't worry about the chicken labeling thing. It wasn't that Cathy labeled things, it was that she labeled everything and took every inch of space in the fridge. There are grey lines around milk and such, as it takes up so much space it really needs to be shared. I liked your discussion about whether Cathy was good or not. It a way, that's the underlying theme of Buffy. What makes some one good and another person bad? Their upbringing. The being they are born as? Circumstances? Intentions? That's why I really like episodes like Ted, Lie to me, Becoming part 2. In the beginning of Buffy, it was simple. Demons bad, humans good. Then came Angel to mess the formula up, and the subsequent episodes. Heck even Prophecy girl had a major influence. Basically, I think the show intends it to be the choices people make. Buffy chose to die to save the world. Ford from Lie to me chose to kill others to save his own life. Cathy may have been good, but for her choice of trying to steal Buffy's soul so Buffy could take her place in the demon dimension. Chances are though, she assigned so little value to human life she would have killed the next person who was a minor inconvenience to her. We'll never know now. YAY, Willow is moved in. Much better anyways. Looking forward to your next reaction.

Re Willow’s roommate: we didn’t actually see her but there was a shot of Willow on the phone commiserating with Buffy about bad roomies while a huge party was raging around Willow. Then when she was going to study while Oz volunteered to hang out with Buffy, when she opened her door there was a huge amount of noise in the room and Willow said she’d be in the library. I think we’re meant to infer the roomie is a party animal. The area where Buffy and Giles chat after his run is the courtyard outside his apartment. We don’t usually see that much of it. Did you happen to notice Parker check out Buffy’s butt when he said he’d watch her back?

I've always loved the camera cuts/ edits for Buffy angry face and her saying you bet. I've used a gif of both on Facebook more than once. lol

This is one of my favorite episodes. Just makes me laugh. And Kathy wasn't really EVIL in the sense of wanting to hurt anyone. She just wanted a normal human life and go to college. It was refreshing.
