Like you said, the episode to me boils down to the question "Can you hurt a friend because someone you completly trust says it is better that way?". Also, has Joan really the option to say no to an all-knowing being? And the frustration of Joan searching for a simple answer that helps her and everybody telling her "it's complicated". Very relatable. I mean, I am not a teenager anymore (very far from it actually :)), but sometimes i still want just a yes or no answer. *sigh* Damn life being complicated ... especially when my colleagues want simple answers from me when it really depends on so many factors :D.
