The Value of Life

I love how the church scene kind of answers all the questions that start with "Why doesn't God just..." I think of taking my dogs to the vet. How can I explain to them why they need to go to this chemical smelling place where people stick needles in them? Even if I could speak to them, their doggie brains aren't capable of grasping the concept of a vaccine. Then I think of a being of infinite intelligence compared to which there is no effective difference between my brain and my dogs' brains. How much knowledge would God have about life, about how events need to unfold, that our tiny human brains are just incapable of containing? I thought Joan just passing out on the floor was a clever and efficient way to get that idea across.
